take your time my man! don't try to tackle it in one day LOL...be sure to plan your steps two or three in advance and remember to consider how every cut affects the rest of the floor and how it goes back together. be sure and mod your firewall so you can remove your tranny if you need to replace the clutch or pull it for whatever. Be sure and post pics and don't let the process drive you insane!!

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 07:47 AM
thanks guys! imma take my time and itll be done right! ..i dont have to worry about the clutch its auto....but might need help on how to keep a/c but idunno till i really get into the cutting

depending on the wheel you choose plan on getting a smaller brake booster... My tires rub the brake booster when layed out... and Im not body dropped...

Is the front completely laid out??? in the pics it doesnt look like it

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 04:58 PM
well my dad has a geo metro so maybe i can steal his...lol and no the front isnt cuz the passenger wheel wel isnt cut and i dont have drop spindles..

DAZE752
08-30-2009, 06:42 PM
whats the overall diameter of the tire??

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 08:06 PM
about 25....lol its big!

DAZE752
08-30-2009, 09:24 PM
that is the size of an 18 i made mine layout with out spindles

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 09:35 PM
i thought that 26 inch was the size of a 20with a low pro tire....

jimmy726
08-30-2009, 09:47 PM
dude IMO make your hardbody layout completely first, then bodydrop it. You are already doing half ass work and then moving onto the next project. Why would you do things wrong just to come back and do them again later?????????????????????????????????

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 09:53 PM
what!?!?!? what am i halfassing...........i never tubbed it cuz i was gunna wait untill i bd it while i have the interior gutted and do it right while everythangs outa the way...AND im cutting the fenders first to make it lay 1st...then once its laying...and i have everythang clearenced imma start actually cutting the body for the body drop...so explain to me what i will be coming back and doing later.....

jimmy726
08-30-2009, 09:58 PM
Dude im talking about you need spindles, and paint your shit. If you wouldve painted it from the get go, you wouldnt have to take a sander, or grinder to it now. I think what youve done to it thus far looks good. But if you leave all your welds and cuts unpainted your cab will rust the fuck out quick. I would just take a step back finishyour bag job right and then go from there.

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 10:09 PM
mk well to start off the truck dont need to lay all the way to body drop it ...ive got the total number of inches the cab needs to be droped...why does it need to lay as of now while its sitting a foot off the ground on jack stands..it would do me no good to buy spindles now...next who says imma leave my cuts unpainted...all the cuts a have made from bagging are gunna be trimmed more anyways like for example the driver side fenders the dont have paint cuz im TUBBING the front of the truck so any type of stock inner fender will be gone anyways! on to the next...my upper 4 link bars and a few other places are the only spots that have rust...and its not like its crazy rust where its taken away the strength of it...and i wanted my epper bars custom painted..and maybe i shoulda painted em but i didnt, cant change that ..+ the bag job is done right whats wrong with it....

jimmy726
08-30-2009, 10:11 PM

aright apretiate it

00frontier00
08-30-2009, 10:33 PM
just triangulate your lower control arms while you have it apart. its too easy. thats what im doing to mine and its also cheaper than spindles. im in the same situation you are without spindles. no big deal.

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 10:37 PM
yea i got the metal laying right beside my truck ready to do that ...might do that this week! um what size metal u usin,,,imma use the sam stuff thats on my 4 link 1.5" DOM tube with 1/4" wall thickness

00frontier00
08-30-2009, 10:38 PM
yep, that would be the stuff. there used to be a how to on "the other site". havent looked for it on here yet though.

green97nissan
08-30-2009, 10:43 PM
yea i can figure it out ..not too hard lol ...and mines only 2 inches from laying so once i get rid of inner fenders and triangulate the lowers im sure ittl lay ..dont u!?

not sure what stock height is on tire size but im running a 245/35 20 and its around 26.75 inches tall... when it lays out the tire rubs the brake booster...Im not sure what wheel/tire combo your gonna run but if it a standard you will have a fun time with the clutch... I had to move mine just to get it layed out...

here is a shitty cell pic

I used a civic clutch master and relocated it behind the dash it gives you a little more room under the hood. For the booster I just moved it over 2" as long as you got a 4 cylinder under the hood you should have plenty of room to move it.

Im kinda new to this whole Mini truck scene. But whats that for that you welded onto you LCA, shock mount?

nislo
04-10-2010, 02:03 AM
it basically makes the lower arm into an a-arm. This needs to be done because the stock strut rods on the front of the arm have to go to lay it out. But by removing the stock rods the arms are not held in place from moving sideways due to bushing flex. Making in into an a-arm makes it better than stock, allows you to lay out and cheaper than bought control arms. The added bar could accept a shock mount.
