http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/IMG_0002.jpg
Ryan I'm not going to ask the why question like you may think...lol
just wanted to give you a heads up..if you really want a body kit and molded in...nix on the body filler bro. Check into some 3M products...they have something called duraglass for fiberglass repair but for bonding and molding use the duramix... it's designed for molding fiberglass or ABS to metal...I just did a search on it. Duramix is what I used to install my targa...also best for body kits

I know what ya mean and good lookin out for me, but i didn't really plan on using filler to mold my kit on, just added it that way on my list cuz i was tired and wanted to get to bed lol.
I actually use LORD adhesives alot with great results, and as far as "bondo" goes I use Rage, Evercoat

Well after 4 months of not even really touching my truck the weather broke and I got back to work on her, got the other bag bracket welded on and the wheels moved to the rear
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=86&pictureid=2062
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=86&pictureid=2066
also got i jacked up to work on the front, BTW if anyone has one of these wheels layin around let me know i still need one more lol, since it was up higher I started to blow apart the front suspension
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=86&pictureid=2061
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=86&pictureid=2060
after a few close calls with snapped bolts and a torch I was able to get it all apart and ready to start cutting for the front bag plates and lowered control arms,
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=86&pictureid=2064
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=86&pictureid=2063
now I need to clear some room in my garage so one of the following has to go but I can't decide which to go with since i'm going with the old school look with the removable hardtop and ground FX i was thinkin of using the S-10 bumper cap but the yota bumper would be easier since the fiberglass one needs some trimming and narrowing done, help me out with this one guys, also I need 2 schrader valves to air up my bags in the rear where can I get them or does any 1 have any?

dont snapped bolts suck!
i noticed that my pass. side brake caliper bolt head was rubbing my bag when turned full clock to the right.
so i go to adjust the steering stop bolt on the driver side spindle and sure enough it snapped. So now it rubs even worse, im gonna weld a plate to the part on the control arm tomorrow to make up for it

I dunno about the valves I just use a ball valve with the male compressor end screwed into it. It make filling and letting the air out easy.

I really don't want to hook up my tank valves compressor and lines just to tear it all apart once I get it ready to roll again, as of now it is stuck in the garage cuz I have a 4x4 post holding the front of my roof from caving in lol. maybe I should fix that huh.
and yeah that was the truck he got rid of that p.o.s. and bought a 2nd gen cuz the orange one was rotten worse than my nissan the whole floor needed replaced as well as all the body mount brackets it was a piece.

ryan, if you just need a quick way to put air to it to move it around or
what ever you could always set it up like my friend did on his 65 chevy
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o283/laydout65/Picture890.jpg
the 2 lines from the bags to a T fitting, then to a ball valve from the plumbing section at lowes, then finish it off it a connector to fit the air line from the shop's compressor.
Mr.Ryan
03-21-2009, 12:24 AM
I got some old devillbiss spray gun regulators and fittings at lowes and thru them on tody so I got the rear in the air with the bags and not bricks now lol.

Ok now I'm going to finish painting up the rear frame after I weld on the shock tabs, then I get to cut out the bed and lay her back on, problem I'm having now is while removing my torsion bars and lower control arms is the lower arm bushing bolt is gaulded into the bushing sleeve so I can't get my lower arms off meaning I can't get my new ones on, how can I get them out and if I damage the bolts can I get them anywhere I know I can get the bushings but the bolts I can't find. or should I just leave them on sell my drop arms and buy drop spindles and put in new ball joints? i prefer not to since money is an issue and I have the lower arms on hand. and does any one have up close pics of the front bag brackets being installed?

try vg30E for the bolts... my truck didn't have a bolt in the bottom of the alternator, it was held in just by the tensioner... i paid $4 at my local dealer for the bolt...at least that way you know it's the right one...

Thx my bed was worse than I thought the previous owner patched the inner wheel wells with galv sheet metal each wheel well has between 5-10 pieces pop riveted in and would have rubbed my tires and not let it layout so after 3 sawzall blades and alot of bangin with my body hammers got it able to pop on but the rest is soo far gone I'm going to need a new bed hopefully by next year I'm going to shave it up anyways and keep with the theme till i get a new bed and cab to body drop it.

I used similar arms on my truck, I used a flat ½” thick spacer under the round plate on the inside edge to make it level and round bar stock with a hole drilled in it to support the center of the plate so it would not bend when the bag bolt was tightened. The only problem is it holds the bag to high and the truck will not layout all the way.

07-21-2009, 07:58 PM
OK, here we go I finally got my truck up to my new house after throwing a few new bolts into the front suspension and cranking the T-Bars back up so I can clear the wheels to turn, clamped off the rear brake hose, tied up the fuel hoses, popped in a battery and fired her right up and drove her up no problems what so ever, DAM I MISSED DRIVING THIS TRUCK. here is how she sits now
Sitting all the way back in my back yard
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=292&pictureid=3286
Here is the rear view as you can see I had started shaving the fuel door just before my garage was broken into and my welder and other stuff was stolen
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=292&pictureid=3285
Now this is obviously my drivers side, you can slightly make out my NINTENDO controller door handles, and the rusted out section of rocker in the front half of my bed
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=292&pictureid=3284
View from the other side of my truck with the obnoxious S-10 front bumper cover, obviously it dont fit too well I need to take a section out of the middle and reform it around my fenders a lil bit, still not sure if I'm going to keep it or not since I am using a ground effects kit it to go with the old school scheme
http://infamousnissan.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=292&pictureid=3283

Mr.Ryan
07-23-2009, 09:05 PM
HAHAHAHA! that's funny right there, lol j/k sorry bro I know I talked a big game about gettin it there this year but since I had my son and shit I found myself wanting to spend time with my son rather than work on the truck plus I moved and then as you know I gott my shit ripped off, so work has been slow, I am definatly wanting to get it there next year, I will be there this year regardless but sadly no twuk, I'll have my wife with me instead, I guess thas a trade off just not one I'd prefer hahaha. but I have since aquired another welder but I'm not sure if it will be strong enough to weld on my front brackets, the truck is drivable now all I really have to do is hook the rear brake lines and parking brake cables back up and throw the other drop arm on the passenger side. and yeah skrapin We can trade bumper for the bed cover when you wanna pick it up so I can get it shined back up for ya, plus if anybody has a spare set of tails layin around hit me up with a pm that or tail light fillers.
Mr.Ryan
01-17-2010, 03:44 AM
Yes, I know what your thinking, "Holy crap he's still working on this" and Yes I am slow as hell, progress has been very slow for the last 6 months, actually there has been no progress at all, till now, within the last few weeks my work moved to a new and much larger set of properties, and since there is alot more room My boss said I could keep my truck there and work on it after hours and on weekends, here is it's new home after a few hours of work I put into it today.

You can also see that I finally finished up the filler panel for the fuel door, but the bed is pretty much beyond repair and I am working on getting one at the local yard for 300 bucks, next I am going to have to fix the rotten hole in the right frame rail by plating the bottom and up around the sides, not too bad since we have a 220 snap-on mig here now. also you can see since last update the truck has the original front bumper put back together and tail lights installed, aswell as a pretty bed cover thanks to duey. since july I have since re purchased my air valves and a tank but still need a compressor and front bags, then I can install my pass side lower control arm and bushings then get cracking on the front bag brackets. any of you local guys wanna help me bust this thing out? lol.

those are some good looking wheels you have there. Its cool you get to work on it some at work. some stuff its easier on a lift. Im glad my boss lets me do whatever, it helps haha
Mr.Ryan
01-23-2010, 12:09 AM
Yeah ryan, it is awesome, for one it is safe where it is and out of the weather, second as long as I pay for my parts at work I can work on it after hours anytime and also on the weekends I just put the parts on our tab at the local parts store then they deliver them to me while I throw down a few beers in my office. since my shop has moved things have changed for the better a lil bit, less stress on my behalf having all 80 of my vans at the same location I am workin on them helps a ton no more chasing them down and yelling at the drivers for wasting gas and such. but yeah man those wheels look great on there man deff fits with the theme of a late 80's early 90's mini. and any time you guys are free on a weekend let me know so I can schedule to have a lift open for my truck, I got my hands on another welder a 110 mig from MAC (made by lincoln) this one I am runnin gas with tho, we could use that to tack the bag and shock relocator plates in till our Snap-On 220 mig gets fixed then I can burn them in with it. as stated before any help would be awesome since this is the first bagged truck I've done on my own, also ordered all my fittings and new front bags 2500 Dominators were on sale so all I need now is a compressor.
Mr.Ryan
03-14-2010, 12:04 AM
Ok so I go almost all of my fittings now all I need is some more 1/8" line and a roll of 3/8" line which should be shortly since all I have is 1/2" and it won't work with my fittings, I have pretty much figured out how and where I am running my valves and compressors, but I have a ? in this pic I made of how I am going to basically run everything, I am wondering if running the compressors air leads into a T fitting then into my dryer then into my tank will work the T fitting has an extra nipple to run my 1/8" line from for my tank pressure gauge, the comp lear hoses have built in check valves so this should work right?
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/airrouting.jpg
nislo
03-14-2010, 05:19 AM
that should be fine for the tank gauge line to tap in at, don't forget a tank drain i know you can't show one on that drawing but just in case I will mention it. Its not a bad idea to put a check valve before each fill valve to keep pressure from leaking back past the fill valves when tank pressures are low. if for some reason the compressor fails to operate and tank pressure gets low enough air will leak back through the fill valves. Had my relay burn up at a show and had to pull over to hard wire the compressor to fill my tank up so fill valves didn't leak, then drive home without hitting switches and had to watch my friends drag. Fill valves need to have enough pressure behind them to keep em sealed. Also without the check valves the truck will dump when you drain your tank.
That being said, not too many people install the check valves. I will be when bag the rear.
Mr.Ryan
03-14-2010, 03:50 PM
Yeah I plan on putting a drain in and running check valves at the valve inlet, going with the smaller ones like on my comp lines, instead of the huge ones that SD sells
1lownismo
03-15-2010, 04:12 AM
I was told if you run the compressors into a T it actually slows the compressors down I have had mine into a T for a couple of years and it works but when This new system gets installed I am going to try to seperate the compressors to see if there is a diffrence
xmb63
03-15-2010, 01:21 PM
there was a thread on the S10 forum about teeing the compressors djdaudio did a test and it was such a small cfm drop running it that way I don't think you will have any problems.
Mr.Ryan
03-19-2010, 01:38 AM
Well it's getting closer, switched back to factory lower arms since I'm doing away with the DJM 2" lower drop arms, not alot of load on the front left torsion obviously, since only the rear is bagged, I went to let the air out of the rear and noticed how great it looked and decided to take a few pics, the rest of the bumpstop mount has been cut away and ground down, ready to cut down the upper plate to length and tack the plates in for the left side, prolly going to be at the shop most of the day saturday workin on this thing if any of you guys want to stop by and lend a hand.

Some more work done today, cut the shock off, bumpstop mount torched, cut off the lower control arm, replace bushing, which was a huge pain in the but I hate doing those things the bolt never comes out and the control arm needed to be torched off, but then it was time to go home for the day, more work soon to come.

Well I finally got my welder fixed here at work and here she is, old ass muscle mig works great tho, here is what I got done so far, some of the welds look a lil nasty but they were ground down and redone I had the mig torch on the wrong polarity lol.

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/IMGP0146.jpg
I only have the right side bagged up front I need to weld up the plates on the drivers side yet, I may also need to redo the plates on the pass side too since my upper control arm hits while lifting and I am only getting 75% lift, and my lower arms are hitting the crossmember on full drop not sure if it will lay out completely or not, if I need drop spindles then so be it no biggie just a lil more of a delay, as far as the upper arm goes I am hoping I can get tubular uppers that will clear or I just need to get imaginative with the clearancing haha

Looking good Ryan I trimmed that inside part of my arms out and replated it for strength that way you get a little more lift. Also watch those bags when they are inflated they tend to balloon a lot just make sure they don't rub anything. I blew out a re7 on mine the steering stop bent and the caliper bolt rubbed the bag.
Mr.Ryan
04-15-2010, 12:49 AM
Yeah I was worried about rubbing issues, I'll try to section out my upper arms to. do you have any pics of the upper arm after you reinforced it? that way I have a basis on what to do to mine. also my package from suicide doors came in today, BUT not happy, once again items were on back order and they failed to notify me, just like they were out of red airline and they waited 3 weeks to call me up and tell me they were out of red and wanted to know if black was ok, thing that pisses me off even more is that the week before I called and they told me my parts were being shipped out that day, not to mention I have pieces missing from my order that they didn't list on back order sheet, and I am still waiting on a few items from last back order, I'm done emailing them ricky don't email or call me back anymore, and I never once raised hell or cursed him out or anything I kept it respectable, now I think I need to call up and tell them how pissed I really am for fuck sakes I ordered twice from shAIM and got all of my stuff from them after placing my order with SD. Enough of my bitching.

Here is the rear view as you can see I had started shaving the fuel door just before my garage was broken into and my welder and other stuff was stolen

Well progress has been slacking due to working so much and changes being made at my shop, But this weekend I took some parts home and tinkered here. I traded duey awhile ago a toyota bumper, and now I got his old one, actually had it for a few months now, It was chrome and had a nice size dent near the license plate hole and some chrome was flaking off and since I am not a big fan of chrome it got hammered, blasted, etched, primed and sealed.

Nice work man, lookin real nice. I love the old school kit on it too, and the sunvisor idea would look good. Think your going to hit Carlisle this year?
Mr.Ryan

Still up in the air about carlisle. I have a wedding I am suposed to go to but I am still not sure yet, If I did go the truck would stay home.

Mr.Ryan
07-18-2010, 03:00 PM
Yeah it looks really good over shiny surfaces, another member here used the black and it looks awesome too, I just haven,t found it here yet, But the red will go better with the paint scheme on my truck IF I ever get it that far. it seems like forever ago that I started working on bagging it, about 3 years I think, I've owned the truck for about ten years now. Most of the time it was just sitting around from being broken tying to drift, and auto X it. it's about time it gets finished.

love the bumper my man, looks real clean.
Mr.Ryan
07-20-2010, 12:39 AM
Well I got the bumper on but bent up my left billet a bit while doing it, but shit happens I'm sure I can straighten it up a lil more. I also for got to post pics of My Upper control arms that I put on awhile ago, They made a huge difference in the amount of lift I get, only problem now is my spindle rubs my bag just a bit where the upper ball joint is, Looks like I need to cut off my upper frame mounts and do them right this time with a set of triangulated tubular lower arms. but on with the pics

dam you get some lift but hell man just dont lift so much in the front and youll be alright with the spindle. Its always something i get so much lift now my stock uca hits the bag when lifted. But they defiantly look good and i want some uppers bad. How are the balljoints when laid out? Any way you could take a pic and post it? I know on my 18s with stock shit the uppers are maxed out
Mr.Ryan
07-20-2010, 12:51 AM
I'll take a pic for ya tomorrow at work jimmy since that's where I keep my truck, But just so you know I am running 205 40 16"s which is small compared to your 18's and my uppers hit my bag plates too that's what made me get these, Plus down the road when it all gets redone again I can just unscrew the ball joints and toss in some with a yota taper.
jimmy726
07-20-2010, 02:03 AM
those are cando uppers right?
xmb63
07-20-2010, 01:05 PM
I had the problem with my uppers hitting the bag when I first did mine I got a piece of chain and put it in a bike inner tube and welded it to the frame and lower control arm to limit the lift so the bag didn't get rubbed.

07-20-2010, 04:38 PM
No jimmy, the arms are actually from DHP, they are pretty decent, alot better than his old stuff, and a bit cheaper than can do, plus he does a 3 payment plan if need be. and yeah duey, I agree about the plate holes, but I got carried away and forgot. and I will get that pic for ya after my lunch break jimmy and post it when I get home
jimmy726
07-20-2010, 05:14 PM
hell yeah i just want to see the balljoints when completelt layed out and they defiantly look good man. I was thinking about buying them from him as well. did you get them any longer up top for less camber?
Mr.Ryan
07-20-2010, 07:50 PM
No, bone stock length, I should have gone a 1/4" longer in case I run larger wheels later on.
jimmy726
07-20-2010, 09:31 PM
now is that for camber that you would have ran them .25" longer? Also how was the service and product. Is he turning his name around and making it right?
Mr.Ryan
07-20-2010, 10:29 PM
Yeah for camber on the .25 longer, and as the service goes, The craftsmanship is loads better, But I had to keep emailing him after my final payment was made to get him to ship them out to me, When I made my last payment he told me they were in the jig right now and all he had to do was weld them up spray them real quick and ship them, But he started working on other stuff till I sent him an email full of me bitching at him, then he shipped them within a few days, otherwise not bad you just got to keep on his balls about it and say you will get ahold of paypal to get your money back. it was kind of a hassle but next time I will keep on him to get my lower arms done when he says they will be done.
Here are the pics of what I was talking about with my spindles hitting my bags at full lift, Now you can see why I want to redo them, since it seems like they are not equally spaced, my one side is all crooked and shit and the other side looks fairly straight. and the pic I took fully layed was corrupted jimmy, sorry, I will try again 2morrow for ya.

07-21-2010, 12:20 AM
turn your tank around so the lines come out the back and send them straight down through the bed. mount the compressors on each side of the tank and hide the rest behind the tank and compressors. It'll look a lot cleaner. My tank is bigger but everything is behind it.

The adjustable end is threaded like a bolt, the bar is tapped like a nut, and it screws in and you spin it in or out till you get the pinion angle you want to roll with depending on what your ride height will be, mine is right around 3 degrees

Really? It it also for a Tacoma? Cuz I love the look o the cap but it curves forfard at the top and hits my cab pretty bad and the only way to fix it is to pull it back an inch and then it will look funny, what's goin on with the solid cap? Plus I have your brackets still, my boss asked if I would sell the cap to him I said I'd have to ask you since it is yours and not mine, so if you want a couple extra bucks he'll prolly give you around $100.

Well I put some more work into her today! Here is the worst part of the frame that I was worried about
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/1002101141.jpg
And I put a few more tacks on my handle filler plates, I went slow as hell, and still pulled the metal in below the handle on the left and above on the right, not from welding but grinding the welds down, Oh well nothing I can't fix but it still pisses me off cuz I know better, it's like I can't do shit anymore since I have been out of doing bodywork professionally for the last 8 years or so.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/1002101343a.jpg
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/1002101343b.jpg
This is after I patched the hole in the frame, now keep in mind that I ran out of grinding disks for my angle grinder and that is why it looks a lil sloppy, it is by no means completely finished,
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/1002101342.jpg
I also figured this would be a good time to plate the frame rail for dragging/laying out still needs the welds ground down to look better.

xmb63
10-04-2010, 01:55 PM
That frame isn't even that bad and I don't think you would find one much better in a wrecking yard in pa. The salt on the roads from the winters make stuff rot out a lot faster.

your truck is pretty cool bro.keep up the work, it all pays off in the end.

I can still paint, I actually have a place to paint now since my shop moved to a larger 3 building location. As far as bad frame and frame swaps go, there is no need since I will be redoing my truck in a few years with a full handbuilt frame for a sfbd, but I need more experience first, and I realy want to rock it old school for awhile since that is how things were when I got into minis

Well after a few 60 hour hour weeks I got a few hours spent on her, I got the door actuators all mounted and wired in. they work awesome all I need are some poppers.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/0305111324.jpg
Then I got the front end all torn apart for the new core suport.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/0402111331.jpg
One question tho, where did everybody cut out their inner fenders since the front is spot welded to the core, which in turn goes to the front body mounts. if you guys have pics post them up it would be awesome I want them cut before I toss the new core in.

Mr.Ryan

Sweet, I'll take them off your hands. every once in awhile I have to pull on the door as I hit the button. Give me a call durring the week. I usually work till around six ish. thanks a ton.

Ok you'll have to test them to make sure they work they were with a bunch of parts I bought a while back.

Didn't have my phone for pics, but I did have my digicam handy do I did a walk around of how the truck is coming along, should be in primer in a lil over a week and then shooting some test panels to decide how many coats of flake I want to use. he is it so far.

good to see you have fixed some of that rot and I still have that tailgate handle panel to shave it for ya.
Mr.Ryan
04-17-2011, 10:03 PM
Speaking of "ROT" I decided to rename my truck "TETANUS" because if the rust, espeacially what I found today, all I can say is I hope the guys helping me are good with steel, I went in today to pull out the rubber mat to fix the one medium sizes hole that was in my floor that I had spotted a few years back, and to pull out and destroy the old etched NISSANCUSTOMS winshield that I had.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/0417111514.jpg
Well after I pulled back the rubber flooring and removed all the sould dampening material this is what I was left with.

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z189/ryanuhric/0417111327c.jpg
So yeah, it is bad, looks like I need to try and find a floor pan from another truck or make a new sheetmetal floor, whichever I choose it will obviouly be a long process, since I have NEVER repaired this much rust before, at least I got my brand new core support in completly and bolted up my new headlight buckets from david, and the windshield is out of the way.

damn dude, the new name is fitting. That's pretty heart-braking to see all that rot. If you decide to do a new floor, now would be the time to traditional body drop. I know you didn't originally want or plan for a body drop. Good thing about fixing the floor is it doesn't have to be pretty, just needs to hold out the water.
Mr.Ryan
04-17-2011, 10:24 PM
Yeah not worried about being pretty, I just want it safe, and this is not safe.

I was just goin to say time for a bodydrop
Mr.Ryan
04-17-2011, 11:15 PM
Yeah but looks like I have to do away with the body kit then, which hides the parts of rust I had to cut out of the bed, damned if i do damned if i don't huh?
Plus I have no clue on how to do a bodydrop when none of my floor is really salvagable. looks like I may have to call joe and ask for his help. maybe we could drop it in a few days if I gather a team and buy alot of pizza and beer.
