its a dvd that my cousin made of his project and i can get it to play on my laptop but it wont save to my laptop

You need to get dazzle from pinnacle, its a capture card that will allow you to play in your dvd player and copy it to your computer.

Try Vdownloader. I use that copy and convert videos.

DVDshrink works great in copying DVDs to your computer to burn to DVD r/rw
