will the s14 ecu for ka24de with mt plug into 98 d22 with ka24de with mt? i was just wondering since: my max mph is only 105, my max rev is 58k rpm, and the list goes on. not sure, but i feel like the s14 ecu has higher top speed and revs, among other better qualities.

any validation to my theory? anyone ever try? i am looking for a cheap alternative to a jet chip or a wolf tech ecu. thanx in advance.

I dont think the ECU plugs are the same. But dont quote me on that.

Also, revving higher wont give you more power if that is what you are trying to achieve. Try adding some bolt ons first with a good tune up, and go from there.

I got a header and a few other goodies on that truck. I just want to shift at the motor's 6500 rpm, rather than the d22's ecu rev limit. Not to mention, the stock top mph is I'm sure lower than a s14's. It's a bummer when you know your motor's got more to give and you're shifting or being limited right out of it. My next move is crower cams and sprockets.

Even then, shifting at the max rpm the motor can do will not give you anymore power. Thats just a revlimit really, I have a corolla motor with a 10,500rpm rev limit, but I shift it at 9500 cause thats where the most power is made.

But if you do step up do aftermarket cams, then maybe I would go with another ECU. But I would go with a megasquirt ecu or if you have the funds go with a Microtech or Haltec ECU. I really dont think the connections are the same between the Frontier or the 240.

I know on the 240 version of the ka24de, you can run an exhaust cam in place of the stock intake cam, this "hops" it up a little bit. why wouldn't it work on the truck model? BTW, are 240 and truck intake manifolds the same?

PS, I guess the stock cams on a Frontier ka24de are 232/216.
