Hey this will by my First Thread dedicated to my 89 nissan hb. Ive had this project for almost 10 years and after sitting for several years ive gotten a fire up my ass to finish my one of a kind build. Any and all comments would be appreciated.

Mods to date.

Total custom engine original naps z24i block and head. ( no wussy swap for me)

4x4 fenders

power mirrors

power windows

Dash swap (myself like 8 years ago before anyone knew)

Custom MHT ondo 18's crome custom machining backspacing holes etc for PERFECT fit. But now i cannot find the caps for i picked up a set of titans 5 spoke. not sure what i will use yet.

97 front end conversion Hid Bi xenon headlights ( high and lows)

4 inch blocks removed spring and hanger relocate

Front lowering control arms custom with shock / spring combo ( soon to include drop spindles)

Now to my favorite....

Nissan bluebird oem t3 exhaust manifold (custom taped for EGR tube

280zt turbo injectors

280zt turbo high flow oil pump

280xt t3 trubo

Custom down pipe

Intake custom nissan oem 4 port multi port injection ( soon with nitrous fogger system)

Infinity q45 Throttle body custom oem intake plenum

Huge front mount intercooler.

Msd 6BTM (soon replaced with or additional Megasquirt Controller)

Turbo Timer

Auto Meter Phantom Stoich meter

If anyone wonders i took the F R O N T I E R and figured i could make a R I O T and it is quite a riot to drive. Until i blew it up last time. Now im going for Skyline TV2 Bayside Blue Metallic, Since i dont have the $$ to get my r34 gtr yet :thumb:

Its aluminum but i was thinking of powder coating it maby grey black red or gold and polishing the top part

so are u using 4 or 8 spark plugs. i didnt know i was think bout doin the same to mine but i dont know were to start. and what other vechiles came with the z24i. mines pretty much stock i just shaved the valve cover and cut the breather housing. oh and i had a friend do it to a ka single cam (turbocoupe junk yard parts) and made him a mainfold, msd and a shot of methnol, acohol, nitro, and 114 octane mixture. idk on what size shot. but he only ran a 15. it was a last min. thing. it was tuned of the mas air i think. but i hope urs runs better than that.

Im using 8 plugs not sure about the times i never got to run it as i was missing 1 stupid lug and the track wouldnt let me run im sure my system is more refined / and will be even more refined this time i was runing about 8-12 psi last time as i have a boost meter built into the turbo timer

I got my 2" spindles and put the right side one tonite.

Wheels are my MHT ondo 18 custom cut back spacing bored and drilled im going to use these if i can get caps if not im boring titans but i screwed one up today so im on the search for another or 2.

the r34s are illegal you can only legally own the r32 cause they have been crash tested

I believe there is a company that does r34 because (they crashed it). I think there is also another way of importing a shell (minus engine) and importing a engine and putting the two together here.

no, r33's are legal, as long as you have the proper ri do the work. there are no proper ri's to do the work however, what a tease the govt is.

no, that was motorex, they lied, that among other reasons is why they are out of business.

they only crash tested the r33's and fudged the paperwork for the r32 and 34. technically, the only legal skylines in the us are ones that where imported by motorex before they where found out, and shut down. they cars already in the country were grandfathered in, and everything else got shut down.

that really sucks the r34 is probly much safer than a HB. what a bunch of bull i love hate this country everyones gets all the fast crazy shit and we get stuck with all the na junk.

we have r34's... i still like the 32gtr better lol..people are importing the new gtr before nissan released it here and nissan are getting pissed off about it

OOOH !! tell us a story 'bout that shock setup!! What is it? Length? What'd you do to reinforce the upper shock mounts? Did you trim the UCA?

I also ordered my Oem big brake upgrade. Great fleabay buy. Ive had problems stopping after the turbo upgrade.

As the shock goes i havent yet reinforced the upper bracket as im not supporting the truck with the shock/spring it just helps a little im still using the torsion bars. I had to cut a notch in the bump stop braket and modify the lower control arm for the shock.

Dude you're on the same track that i've been trying to follow for a while now! Do you have the part #'s for the coilovers? Did you have to modify the upper control arms at all? what'd you have to change on the lowers? And, what big brake kit is that?? Different calipers?
so many questions, I know...

used to still be a little soft but then i didnt have spindles before. Now i should be able to put good tension on the torsion bars and with the sudo coilovers im hoping for stiff/sport like suspension. I have the numbers off the shocks but i got them i think from pepboys and basically opened all the boxes of shocks one night and found them. They are helper springs I cannot seem to find via a google search something like them. The big break upgrade was a factory option and from what i can tell rare and hard to find ive never actually seen one on a nissan. They are 11" instead of the stock 10" and they have 2 piston calipers instead of the cheezy 1 the hb now has. My lower control arms are Lowering control arms not sure who they are made by but again ive had these for so long i dont think they are made anymore. I had to modify for the shock mount and relocate the stablizer end link hole further out toward spindle.

the dual piston calipers came on the V6 hbs and and some of the 4bys and early four bangers too, was gonna upgrade mine till i found out it already had them stock.

Ok i have never seen them 2 piston becides the 4x4 but they are different rotors for the 4x4. i was going to try to pick a part piece the setup together but this came with new lugs locking lugs new rotors etc so im good. Here are some photos of my suspension i redid the drivers tonite.

Thanks for the info! Do you know the name brand or maker of the shocks? I haven't been able to pull them up with the number alone.
Does it drive any better? Stiffer?
