well i was on my way to school today, the ride was about 10 minutes and when i pulled up in the parking lot i heard this weird sound like my airbag was leaking or something. so i hopped out and looked, and all my anti freeze went out. the cap was on and everything. i got to looking and it was leaking somewhere over the oil filter because i saw that it was dripping on it. does anybody have a clue to what could have went wrong. the past owners re routed all the electrical and it kinda pisses me off because it was just thrown all against the motor and stuff(no offense) so i couldnt really see where the anti freeze was leaking from. after school i loaded it back up with anti freeze and i rode home. i even made sure to take a little while longer to see if it would do it again. but it didnt. im really confused so if anybody could step in i would greatly appreciate it. if pictures are needed i will def. get some

yep its a KA
i was originally thinking that it was some hoses because it made a weird sound before it started leaking

too many places for coolant to leak to help you out here. could be from a hose, the water pump, timing cover, etc.

check you oil as well and make sure it isnt turning white.

best bet is going to be cleaning up the motor really well, and letting the truck run until the leak shows itself again.

yeah you heard pressure..like a boiling sound?? Just get it up, top it back off with coolant and you should see where its coming from if it leaked out that quick

so should i be driving it to school? or just wait until i figure out the problem

depends on the size of the leak.

if its a slow leak, and the oil isnt contaminated, you could get by for a while.

if its a major leak, you run the risk of overheating. could cost you your motor.

if the oil is contaminated, you run the risk of locking up the motor.

hey skitty. i just checked the oil and its not contaminated.

i looked around at the hoses and the hose clamps looked kinda loose but they are extremely to big for the hoses they are on. so when my dad gets home im going to let him check that out.

i did notice that there was a missing screw or bolt pretty damn close to the oil filter. but i dont know if anything is supposed to go there or not.

thats what im hoping is the problem.

quick question, would it be worth the money to run steel braided lines? thats all my dad ever did on his motors.

ummmmm hell no why would you put $200 worth of hose on a 200k something motor. Now if you rebuild your motor then yes you can run all the nice hoses and fancy shit.

ok i found out what the problem was. on one of the hoses, the clamp was extremely to big and it wouldnt tighten any further. ran to autozone picked up the right size clamp and no more problems. thanks for the help guys. really appreciate it.

my dad got all pissed off at me about that to. he said he would rather take the motor out of his old drag s10 and put in mine. just dont know when that would be.
