i saw this today, and monster said it was a vw rabbit...anyone anything about these, like what kind of suspension? what kind of engine....is the body chasis the same as the car rabbit? whats the difference in lbs??? mpg??? gimme the low down on this truck, cause i want one

coil springs front and rear, everything is the same as a vw rabbit. probably a 1.66 or 1.8 4 cyl, awesome little trucks. They refer to them as caddy's . Look around on thesamba.com, vwfixx.com or vwvortex.com, they should have forums dedicated to them. Be sure to check the front strut towers for rot, its common there. They are really awesome trucks.

It should be similar to other VW cars, and different motors should be able to drop right in with little to no mods. But I dont know, I dont do the German thing......

yes, This is considered the 1st gen of watercooled vw, Usually called A1, it includes rabbit, fox, jetta scirrocco.

they are great lil buggies I had a few of them, any of the older ff car/truck platforms I've prolly had it. dodge rampage, suburu brat, vw caddy, el camino, ranchero, I liked the vw alot but I leaned a lil more towards my rampage with a GLH motor swap. but if you have any ?'s ask paul (layedout) he used to be a huge V-DUB guy, mostly bugs I think tho.

There was a diesel engine available that got around 48 mpg. Good little trucks if you're familiar with old watercooled VW's.

i had one is was a 1.7 4 speed rust bucket. they didnt galvinize the bodys. if your over 6 foot forget it to small. if your gonna buy one check the rockers and aroung the windshield. when i lived in jersey there was a guy that stretched one into a 4 door he used to show up at cowtown for mini truck shows.
