Rocket

was going to port the exhaust (?) side because the inlet was meant to be pretty decent, but money wont permit :(

The engine has to come out and the crack thing will have to be welded and resurfaced...

You cant run a supercharger cause of your age!?!?

I dont know if you will achieve your HP numbers, but with those mods it should be a fun truck to drive around in. But achieve your HP goal, you will need higher compression, port work, lumpier cam, etc etc etc. If you are running the 45 Webers, you might have to re-jet it some for your motor. They tend to come with jets to big for your application and your truck will run like poo.

Yeah because im on my provisional license (the red P plate next to my numberplate in my avatar), means i cant drive a supercharged car, a turbocharged car, or a v8

i have got a higher comp (round 9.5-10.0 :1) got a crow cam Mad lumpy, gettin the 45's tuned to my engine, as well as havin the cam timing done, the dizzy re-weighted or somthin (so i can piss of those vacuum advance lines that dont work with webers)

i am in the process of trying to purchase a z24 block from a guy locally that i will load up with KA-T forged internals for strength and maybe boost down the track (:

Wow, I learned something new. They should have that red "P" thing here, too many kids with mustangs, Lightnings and SRT4's rolling around here.

Engine build is looking good.

they really should bring over those kind of laws to canada. theres far to many rich kids around here that have turbo'd rx-8's and shit. i know that sounds crazy, but i personally know 2 kids that have turbo'd RX-8's, they are only 18 and they have very rich parents. fucking rich people lol.

back in the shop to get rejetted, primaries to big and secondaries too small =/.

* thermo fan has been put in.
* exhaust has been done (the exhaust was 2 1/4 inch full system including extractors, single ressie and a straight through muffler... 120 decibels, it was heard about 3/4's of a mile away, over a hill and through main road traffic.. >(.. they have to put another resonator in to try and shut it up.)
* run the head in, 1000km's
* and the filters were put on

I love the fact that your doing a nap-z motor build. I cant wait to do one. One more year of hanging on and then I can finally start mine. I've seen a couple of websites that talk about different builds of this motor. Although I cant remember what sites they were. They talked about what your wanting to do, ka internals. Anywho, I hope you reach your goals with it. I would like to hit the 200hp-250hp range with nitrous. I think it'd be a blast to drive a hopped up n/a nap-z. Keep it posted for i will follow!!! lol!!!

its got so much more torque down low, and it has paper filters at the moment, but when i get my ram tubes fitted it will have alot more up top..

at the moment with no tacho and no idea on how to launch ive run a 17.4 (first day at the drags)

im going to do some tubes fed by cold air and run it again.

i want to run nitrous as well >],
but its my daily and it would probably throw a tailshaft

I've always liked the sidedraft webers. I've seen people say just do a ka swap, more power for less or the same amount of money. That's cool in all. I do like the ka for numerous reasons but..... having a tweaked nap-z with everything shaved/cleaned up in the engine compartment looks frickin' awesome. If it's hp numbers your going for, yeah the 'ol nap isn't the choice. But for super cleanliness with a little kick, I think the nap is cool.

ran a 17.208 and then crunched all the valves against the pistons when the cam chain tensioner came loose.
cracked block and 5 leaking valves, including 1 bent badly

game over.
