bought some 12's and to my suprise ones a dvc and the other is a svc but same brand and models the same,my amps 4ohm stable at 600w, each coil on these subs is rated at 200 rms.can i just use one voice coil on the dvc or can i wire the dvc to work properly with the svc?

what is the ohm rating on the coil on the SVC? What is the ohm rating on each coil of the DVC?
If you have a 4ohm svc, and a dual 2ohm or dual 8 ohm dvc, we'll be able to get you straight on your resistance...the only thing is that the dvc will probably be a little bit louder.
Also, on the amp.... is that 600w @ 4 ohms mono? 4 ohms stereo? is it two ohm stabe in bridge mode?

i personally would contact whom ever sold your the sub, and make sure you get 2 matching subs....hooking to different subs up will cause cancellation, and over time your gonna need a new amp, and or sub....

You can get the ohm load worked out, but they cannot share airspace. They have to be in seperate chambers.
But yeah, I'd try to get matching subs.

200 ohms rms on the svc same for the dvc on each coil, both subs 4 ohm's each coil, 600watts bridged 4 ohm stable, currently sharing the same air space, moneys tight workin on getting a single 15" but nee to work on these for now until then.

did you buy these from a shop or from a individual? I have a hard time thinking that a shop would have sold a unmatched pair for the constant struggles that it takes to get them to preform correctly.

no sorry not from a shop more of a deal from a friend from a friend.
what about parallel/series wiring?could i pull it off to make all three a 4ohm load to match my amp?
if all fails anybody got some kickers for sale?.......

I would personally hook the dvc up, and sell the svc to make some bucks back

hhhmmm.....yup i guess ill go with that,i should parallel it right?

If you only hook up the DVC, you'll either have a 4ohm stereo load(not bridged), A 2 ohm mono (run parallel and bridged which isn't safe for the amp) or an 8 ohm mono load (run series and bridged which will cut the power output of the amp in HALF).
None of the options are too appealing here man. If that amp was 2 ohm stable it would be doable...

theres only one way to figure this out, and post the model numbers of the amp and sub you got

mtx road thunder series(black with red stitching),and a alpine mrv-1000 v12.been messing around measuring the ohms and wiring and got both subs at 3ohms,if i hook it up to my 4 0hm stable amp would that hurt anything?

if a amp is stable at 4 ohms, it must be run at 4 ohms or higher.
so yes, you can damage your amp, subs, or both running it at 3 ohms.

ha, i just ordered a 15" dual 2 ohm kicker.plus im not gonna try and damage this classic amp.

thanks.....any feedback on this sub though a 15" solo classic,it said you have to use it in a sealed box,but have a ported one right now.

i had kicker back in the day...i would rock kicker again if i was in the same situation

u can run the kicker in a ported box but the airspace needed is more than if u ran the sub in a sealed enclosure i believe u need 1.75cuft of airspace in a ported box and since its a dual 2ohm configuration u can wire it to 1 ohm or 4ohm choice is yours i know this post is late but i hope it helps
