shave tailgate and relocate handle to inside

i need to lock and unlock from outside, and i have a tonneau cover with struts

The second link you posted will be your best bet then. I've never had one, but it basically goes on the stock handle itself. Does your tonneau have locks?

yes the tonneau cover locks down its an old checkmate brand. you can open the tonneau only if you open the tailgate. i was gonna get the truxedo, but anyone can just pull up the tonneau at the velcro to peek inside
