GAMBLD - 93 Nav

Hey guys, new to the Forum, mates call me Grigg.

Building a 93 Nav which has been in my garage since i bought it off my brother. It was bagged in the rear and was a dodgy job. I wasn't prepared to get it back on the road in its current state, i would have liked to do some of the work myself but seeing I'm a web designer, i had a talk with Laurie and now in at The Chop Shop for a FULL rebuild. Nothing will go untouched by the time its finished.

Once I got it in the shop, had to decide on what wheels to run so we could start to design the rear clip. It was a given that the current backend junk would be taken out and replaced with a full rear clip. So its been stripped down and the back half cut off, waiting for the new clip to go on.

For the wheels, it was off to Showwheels to get some Intro Wheels USA Twisted Vista 8s. 22x8.5 for the front and 22x10 for the back. They finally arrived after a 3 month wait. They're 8 stud wheels, so there's a bit of work to get them on.

Now the clip is starting to come together and we are designing the rest of the backend setup. As you can see by the pics, the diff has been shortened a fair bit to accommodate the wheels.

The clip should be grafted to the truck in about 6 weeks, then the rest of the fun begins. Hoping to have as much done as possible for ECC.

Rear end as in the diff? its been shortened quite a bit cause ill be running 22x10 on the back.
The rest of it hasn't been shortened, I'm keeping it a long bed.

Haha Ching is trying to keep it undercover ey. Well the boys have been busy and the rear clip is coming along nicely. Got a couple more pics yesterday of how it will look with the wheels and the bed on. Got a few cool ideas for the fuel tank and air tanks which the guys are working on to keep with the theme.

Haha theres a fair bit more to go yet mate! Unfortunately there wont be a big motor just yet, as im still on P plates (late starter :)) im restricted to the engine size.

Big props goes to The Chop Shop for building the truck, theyve worked with my ideas and gone even further than i expected! I wish I could do some of the work aswell, but I think ill stick to designing websites :D

There's been some talk about weather or not it's possible to shorten the stock axles on a hardbody. How did you do it, or are you using aftermarket axles?

Hey man thats an aftermarket axle, its 8 lug, so its prolly like a chevy dana or 12 or 14 bolt..........but i could be way off

I'll be using Ford F-series and Chevy hubs cause yeah they are 8 lug wheels.

Fuel cell is now fitted, air tank mounts are being made today, 2 480 Viairs, RE 7 Slams and a Big Red valve block are ready to be plumbed up.

The chassis has been painted black for the time being.

Yeah its got a D22 front end clip, hasnt been finished yet though, gaurds still have to be grafted in.
Its going to be a full tube front end, control arms are being made now. Sorry to disappoint but the stock 3L V6 motor is going back in and will just be cleaned up. Due to restrictions in Aus, im not allowed to have a V8 just yet. But as soon as the front end is put together I'll show everyone, should be ready next weekend.

Yeah the truck is bare metal, looks awesome! wish I could keep it like that.

It wont stay boxed like that at the back, it will curve down the back half of the wheel. Hard to explain but you will see in the next couple of weeks.

What's up!! Been ages since any work has been done on the truck due to me taking time out to build up my company which I'm pleased to say is going really well.

Some of you may have already seen these but thought I may as well chuck some pics up for those who haven't.

All fab has now been completed (taillights, tub quarters, plate box and alloy parts all welded up along with front guards fully welded up).

Chassis and suspension components will now be going in to get powder coated in the next week or so.

Thanks guys! She was looking a bit sad sitting in my garage for so long, so I'm stoked for it to be closer to completion.

Steering and front shocks are next on the list and then once thats done the chassis and suspension components are off to get powdercoated.

The guys did a test on one of the rocker arms with a green, but think I'm going to go a bit darker.
