depends on what wheel you want to use: 5 hole, 6 hole, or 9 hole.

ive seen people do a direct swap to a 240 wheel. so they might be interchangeable.

usually you pick the wheel you want first, then find the adapter. if all else fails, you can drill and tap any adapter to fit the wheel if you are unable to find one.

depends on the wheel. some have "fine, hand wrapped italian leather" or others might be "machined from solid t6711 billet aluminum using our $4million CNC machine"

its all mark up and marketing. i bought a momo wheel and paid a pretty penny for it. almost regretted it until i installed it. The look and feel of it are perfect, to me anyway.

i think it really makes the interior...i just shot out e-mails to alot of the wheel companies about the adapters. I have not found anything yet online that actually says that any adapters fit...i have seen HB's but not the Frontiers...i will put any info on this thread that they give me

what year frontier?

the hardbody and early frontier share a large number of parts. its possible that the HB one would fit the frontier. if you really want to know, go pull your wheel, and count the splines. thats the main part that allows them to fit. the second part is how the turn signals are deactivated, usually by a couple metal tabs on the adapter.

I found out that the adapter for the newer gen HB's, the newer 240's, and frontiers have the same PN for wheel adapters. Lacarra makes one and a few others. I would have taken the wheel off and just ordered one and checked but I am in Iraq...but when I get back you can bet that I am going to tackle alot of shit that people want to know.

Most vendors won't list steering wheels adapters for vehicles that came standard with driver's airbags. It is illegal to remove/disable the airbags in a vehicle that came equipped with them. On that same note, ALOT of what we do to our vehicles is illegal to one government agency or another. I am pretty positive the entire state of CA hates my lack of emissions equipment, but there is no emissions testing in my county.

I would take my chances with the newer HB adapter. I know you can pick the momo HB adapter on ebay, and the auction lists the other vehicles that it fits. I can find it if you want.

so which one would be used for 96-97 hardbody (these have the airbags).... wouldn't be better to get the adapter that works first then find the wheel after? any thoughts. also anyone know any diagrams to show the installation for the 96-97 truck. thanks

i ended up using a cheap fake momo hub i got on ebay that fits a 91-98 240sx. works like a charm. 15 dollars free shipping. i'll post pix later.

to get the airbag off you need a allen key that is hollow on the inside beacuse there is a small "nipple" inside the allen head bolt.

Or you can use a Dremel tool and cut out the little tit and then use a torx bit. They do make torx bits with a hollow part to take these off without shaving the tit.

the torx bits with the holes in them are called tamper proof torx bits. like 20 bucks at autozone. i bought sum last week. they are only single bits u have to put in a driver but they work good.
