I got mine from FBI too. you have to take them to a grinder a little bit but they will work
it is the center notch in the bracket that is to small, it has been a while but I think you have to grind out about 0.25 inches and it should fit good and tite.

I'm not saying this to be an ass but: Try searching the words "dash swap", "guage cluster", "tach", etc. I have searched those terms exactly in the last few days and there is alot of info on here about the dash swap. It's a VERY commonly done mod for those of us who were blessed with the pre-94 square dash. You will want to use a cluster that goes with the new style dash and depending on your truck, decide if you want the one with the"12DNRP" area for an automatic. You can probably wire up any of them to work with some patience. I am in the middle of wiring the cluster from a 94 Pathfinder to work with my 88 Hardbody. Just get some good wiring diagrams and take your time. There is a helpful PDF that you will find in your searches but it may just get you started. It's not always perfect for every single year truck. I used it to get started, now I'm just figuring the stuff that wasn't covered.
