i have a 1990 nissan d21 4cyl 2wd. i just recently bought this truck and notice a scraping noise whenever i turn very tight. this truck is stock and very low to the ground. is the scraping normal or is there something wrong?

have a look in and around your wheels and inner guards to see if there is any noticable rubbing marks.
dependng on what it is ,it may be a case of adjusting your steering stops or maybe lifting it up a touch.
how low are you?any pics?

nissans do make a sound when turned full lock. yours could be this or it could be something with it being so low. my bagged 89 does this, my dad's 95, both of my 97 4x4's, and my 94 pathy....all of them make a kind of grunting sound especially if you hit some sort of bump while having it turned very sharply.

my truck is very low. and it does it mostly when on an incline or a small bump like you mentioned. i always figured it was due to how low it is. i think the tires that are currently on are 14's. I will take decent pics later and post.

check the steering stops. if its metal to metal it makes a terrible noise.

dido with my little 15s on mine if you turn hard the steering actually scrubs the inside of the rim if you have 14s could be the same thing. see if you have a scratch on the inside of the rim.
