What tailgates will fit on my Frontier?

i heard frontiers fit perfect... look for one of those! they look better also..but maybe thats just me? :rolleyes:

all hb and all frontier tailgate will mount up, with no problems

the one on my hardbody is heavy as hell...i never picked one up on a frontier

The Tailgate for my truck is hared to find, so i'm considering a Hardbody tailgate

01-04 tailgates are kind of a pain in the ass to find. My frontier didn't have a tailgate on it when I bought it so I watched ebay for like a year before I finally found one in decent shape that I could afford. But, if you don't mind having a flat tailgate, any nissan tailgate from 1986.5-2004 will fit. I don't believe there is much of a difference in weight between different styles.

I really would like to see if the Fronty body lines up with the Hardbodys tailgate line.

the 98-00 had the same body line as the 01-04, but the tailgate didnt have the bubble like the 01-04

The 98-00 gates are the same as the hardbody gates, they just don't have the raised "NISSAN" letters. They have the same recessed wide stripe near the top
