Ummm... I just had my windshield replaced in December, so unless I change insurance companies, I can't file another claim on the glass until Dec 09. Which is fucked up, because my insurance is sky high.

Anyway, I think I got behind a dump truck hauling sand on the freeway. I didn't notice how bad it was until I was driving into the sun today... It looks like my windshield got sandblasted, there's thousands of tiny pits ALL OVER it.... Is there any way I can polish/buff this out? If not...

Does anybody in Houston have a glass hookup? Or can somebody bless my truck so I'll stop having issues?

Your insurance company should be freaking ecstatic about replacing your windshield if anything about it obscures your vision. Even if they bought you a new windshield every 3 weeks it's still cheaper than totalling out a lexus or killing a pedestrian or something.

you'd think charging me $173 a month for a 9 year old truck would have them happy enough.

Call them up and ask. Make sure you mention that your vision is obscured and you're afraid of being in an accident. If they say no, ask for the name of the person you're talking to and ask to speak with their supervisor. Also get their supervisor's name. And ask their supervisor if you can speak with THEIR supervisor. All the while, make sure to mention as frequently as possible that your vision is obscured and you just want to be safe. If you have a local agent, bring your truck to them and show them your windshield.

Don't be overly dramatic, just drive home between the lines that if you get in a wreck you're telling the cop that your vision was obscured by your windshield, then your lawyer will get a copy of the police report which states that as well as your notes indicating that Shelly operator number 87392 refused to replace your windshield, and then supervisor Jim Johnderson refused to replace your windshield, and super-dupervisor Freddy McMurray refused to replace your windshield, and local agent Jose Menendez refused to replace your windshield.

who is your insurance company? If you go through a local agent who repsresents, lets say all state, then tell him you're leaving his office and going to another all state agent in the area. usually they compete for business. I would even call another local agent and see what they have to say!!!!

i go through bristol west/security national. i checked prices, progressive was actually more... see, i had an "at fault accident", which was a $40 claim, and i'd love to get that shit taken off, since i don't feel i should pay an extra $40 a month for a $40 claim.

anyway it's kinda funny, i noticed the same stuff on pugz and candy's windshields, and it's tree sap. i haven't ever parked under anything besided palm trees and carports, so... eh...
