So i wanted to get a new headunit since I just sold mine, but I am not sure which to buy. I REALLY wanted the Pioneer AVIC-F90BT, but all I have heard is complaints about it not being nice and having lots of problems. I love pioneer but just dont want problems if I am going to be paying a lot of money for a new unit. So I have narrowed it down to these two units. The Alpine IVA-W505 navigation or the Kenwood DNX-8120 navigation. Any suggestions or comments on which one i should get? It would be going in my 2006 Frontier.

My money goes to the alpine. I don't have any experience with that HU, but every alpine HU I have ever owned has never let me down, and I have put them through their paces.
I would check around if you are planning on using it for a video screen and see how difficult it is to bypass. I know a few models have started monitoring the GPS data, and if the vehicle is moving it will disable the video option and set it to nav only.

I'm a big alpine fan... but there new stuff is made in China now. The DNX8120 is a nicer unit but I don't like the Garmin GPS interface.
I would look into the Eclipse AVN6620.

the 202 is a nice unit as well. really the only difference is the size of the screen

Yo you should go with eclipse avn 726e navi Bluetooth audio iPod and many more but I is expensive but it's worth it when I take a pic of mine all show it to you
the new pioneer arent coming with the subwoofer setting. so when you go to adjust the subwoofers's bass, you have to also alter the door speakers bass. doesnt sound as good as the old pioneer decks. i bought one, but ill prolly swap it out. good deck, but i want that option.

Double check the settings tat, both Pioneer head units I have in boths my rides have the Sub woofer controls, my oldest is 5 months old, the newest almost 2 months now.
Also, I looked into Alpine units and there is as issue with USB connections. Some units were shipped from China and Malaysia and wont read from a american USB flash drive. (though Ipod connection seems to work fine.) Empress Audio was having a sale on thier Alpine units and I talked to one of the sales reps in detail. The issues are supposedly resolved but they were wanting me to go check out the demo units before deciding what I wanted to get. I still ended up with the Pioneer though.
