My 87 all of a sudden decides it's not wanting to engage the starter. It's been working fine. Every thing else works when you turn the key on but when you go to start it, it just clicks once, if i cycle the key on off on off a few times it usually works. This is the second time it has happened to me the first time i though it was a starter to i replaced that and was working just fine. It only seems to do this when it is either really cold out or really wet. I have asked around and I've been told its the BIG blue relay on the passenger side fender well but i DON'T have that relay on my fender. Any one have any ideas of what it could be or how to fix it? My tuck is a 87 with the Z24i 5spd.
Thanks
Matt

since you said the solenoid has been replaced i would check for a loose connection either at the solenoid or at the battery then go from there.

Maybe check the starter kill switch on the clutch pedal under the dash. They have a rubber button on it that likes to fall off. Mine did the same thing as yours before and thats what i found.
