speedo quit

My speedo quit on my gauge cluster on my 90 HB. What do i need to look for to get this fixed? Thanks

speedo cable probably broke. I would check that first, then the speedo.

So it does have a cable?

yeah, up to like 93 has a cable. 94+ (i believe) is speed sensor.

HI, I'm new here and this is my first post. I just replaced mine and its probably that small plastic piece that slips inside the speedometer. Its supposed to stay secured to the end of the cable and it took me a while to figure this out.:mad: I bought a replacement for around $48.00 at Courtesy Nissan.;) hope this helps

take out your gauges and pull on the square cable in your speedo cable. if it comes out its broke. or you can go for a drive around the block with the gauges out and see it the speedo cable is spinning.

The piece inside the cable is removable. Sometimes the square piece breaks. Usually you can push it back in with the spring behind it.
