from the pics i remember seeing, the main part you need is where the bodyline runs. the lower parts near the rocker you use the existing bed.

i dont know if i saved any pics or not. ill dig in a minute.

the main thing i need to know is if the fenders that were cut for the yota bumper are usable or do i need to use the uncut stock fenders for this....

no twisted that does absolutely nuthing for me, but thanx for the help though.....i started on the pass side today and what i need to know is what do i do about matching the wheel opening up on the front and back side of the wheel opening, if i do the inch or so filler below the body line will that match it up pretty close or do i need to pie cut the bedside and fender and weld in a filler, which is gonna be easiest and most effective way to do this......

one guy cut the 4x4 fender horizontally and lined up the wheel well opening. then the gap that was created between it and the body line was filled with flat steel.

but will it look right and not look like it has skirts on it or that rediculous look to it like that one truck that was mentioned in the other thread in the show pics posted...

the couple of trucks i've seen that "spliced" in that extra piece of metal made it look like it should IMO. when i had mine done, he didn't add any metal and i lost a couple inches of wheel tuck. what you'll be doing is matching the new wheel opening to the old one. you won't be making it further down than it should be.

ok heres a few pics or what im dealing with, i did some measuring and to cut below the body line, i would have to add too much to move the lip down to line up with the bedside, im thinkin of pie cuttin the lip on the bedside and bend it out to meet the lip on the fender.....heres a few pics of what ive gotten so far....

Heres what I did, I put the fender in exactly as you have done, but I cut off the standard 4x4 lip to give me a flat surface to work with, Then I mesured how much I would need to use from the peice of bedside i cut out and split that into 2 pieces in the center, then added a filler section to fill the gap when i welded that section up. I know that probaberly does not make sense, but if you can wait till next week I will be back home and i can upload photos from my home computer and it will all become clear!I am away at the moment working.

twisted that makes sense.....but the bulge on the bedside that was cut out and the bulge of the fender not bein the same didnt cause an issue?...

Albert,
Looking good. I cannot wait to see this completely done.
BTW, I got those door lip rubbers I told you about. Also the headlight and wiper controls are in real nice shape. I will shoot some pics when I go and get the steering wheel and air bag for someone else this week. I also got that plastic trim piece for the dash you were needing to replace the mirror control switch. I had one here all along. I didnt know the one I had would fit in the spot on your dash.

well i got 1 side finished just need to sand it and do a little more filler....this sux balls, i do not recommend doin this, maybe its just the way im doin it i dunno, but i would rather narrow the rearend and backhalf the frame than do this slow tedious (sp?) process ever again after this is done....ill get a couple pics up tonight when i get home....

I think when I do mine I'm going to go to the wrecking yard and find the cleanest 2 door pathfinder I can and cut the rear "flares" out of it. That way the top is level and does not angle

good luck finding a clean 2wd pathy in a junkyard. and then talking the guys into letting you cut out the entire fender without charging you for the whole body.

pathfinder have the 4wd bulge at all 4 corners
