Anyone know anything about Kove brand?

I got two 12 inch Kove subs with some stuff in a trade. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get info on these. I am just wanting to know what the power and box specs are. I built a box for them and hooked them up and I am very pleased with them though they look like they came straight from 1990 or something.

Not sure. I didn't see anything on them stating anything about what series. Any way I can find that out? I can post a picture later if need to.

what size is it? describe it as best as possible. colors. logos in certain places. pics would also help if available.

logo on the dustcap can help determine age. old school was gold and red and printed. newer models it was black and embossed. even newer models had the embossed cap but painted silver and red.

if it has a stamped steel basket, its likely a KVR, KLD, or KEW. there is normally a sticker on the bottom of the magnet with the model # on it.

if its a cast aluminum 4 spoke basket, its likely an armageddon. it would likely say armageddon on the dustcap. depending on the basket color, it could be a M, Z, or ZM. very unlikely its a u2 as they are fricking huge.

Ok so I looked again and found a sticker that was very hard to read. Is KXP an option? They are the printed kind with Kove in red and the half circle type marks in gold.

with the 4 spoke basket correct?

looks like an early armageddon series. power handling should be at least 500w. possibly more, but im reluctant to say how much. some could be heavily abused (Z series up to 1000w), others couldnt (zm series pops at about 600).

box sized for a 12 is pretty standard.
sealed: 1 to 1.5 CF
ported: 1.75 to 2.5 CF

Alrightt that sounds great man. I have them right now in a box that is just over 1 CF. Like I said the do decent. I didn't know my rearview mirror was loose until it hit the dash on the way home last night. That is with 150 watts to each.

the older stuff was pretty good. the subs i ran were decently efficient, so you didnt need tons of power. too bad they got bought, turned shit, and went under.

Kove is now owned by US amps/RE and has new seris of subs coming, had a few protos for sale on SSA. Pretty much the same as the old SeXXX.
