i just bought a rockford amp, took the cover plate off so i could hook it up and noticed that it has a built in 100A fuse. do i still need to run an inline fuse on my power wire? or can i just run a solid piece of 1/0 gauge wire from the battery to the amp?

this is the amp i bought

nope you need a fuse no further than 1 foot away from the battery

the fuse is to protect the wire. so you still need one close to the battery to keep the truck form burning down if something happens.
