Ok so I was messing with this last night and it works. As I am seeing more and more of these QR codes on just about everything. It could be a way to bring more people to the site. What I'm thinking of doing is getting the QR code printed as a decal and put it on my tailgate for everyone to scan. Now I don't want to piss anybody off by doing this so just let me know what you think. As long as Infamous Nissan.com is on it, the QR decal would bring more web hits then just a URL decal. And I was able to set this up for free with Red laser.

I think it would work but idk. I do know the code it self wouldn't stand out. There for it really wouldn't catch anybody's attention. I think the code has to be black.

The code color can be changed as well but it has to be a dark color with light background otherwise it doesn't scan.

They come to us from Japan where they are very common. QR is short for Quick Response (they can be read quickly by a cell phone). They are used to take a piece of information from a transitory media and put it in to your cell phone. You may soon see QR Codes in a magazine advert, on a billboard, a web page or even on someone’s t-shirt. Once it is in your cell phone, it may give you details about that business (allowing users to search for nearby locations), or details about the person wearing the t-shirt, show you a URL which you can click to see a trailer for a movie, or it may give you a coupon which you can use in a local outlet.
The reason why they are more useful than a standard barcode is that they can store (and digitally present) much more data, including url links, geo coordinates, and text. The other key feature of QR Codes is that instead of requiring a chunky hand-held scanner to scan them, many modern cell phones can scan them.

Hey twisted720, do you know if the size plays a role in being readable? Could they be made small enough to be incorporated into the IN business cards?

I love the idea of having a scannable sticker for IN... My back window has a space reserved for it if it gets approved. :thumb:

No not really. The codes can any size you just have to hold the phone so that the code fits in to the view box on the phone. If there is too much glare like from the sun or the code being under glass, then it will not scan.
