Well after the weekend before last's nightmare i "sprung" a new problem.

I Drive to work, get there wait in the car and have a smoke till its time for me to go in. Well when i turn the car off, all of a sudden a hear a loud pop and the passenger side of the car sank. i was said wtf!!! Get out take a look under the hood everything seems fine, look at the tire and its fine too. So i just said fuck it and went into work, well at 6:30 this morning i get it the car and start it up ,starts fine and everything let her warm up for a 5 minutes. Throw it in drive and take off, then i start to hear this noise coming from the passenger side of the car, wishfully thinking that maybe just maybe its the brakes that might have ice on them from our freezing rain storm last night.

Well i get going and the noise just keeps going and getting louder then i get that all too familar smell, tire smoke. So i whiped it into a parking lot and put my hand between the tire and the lower strut perch. I i felt coil spring. FUCCCCKKKKKKK!!!! And i had thought that i was done working on cars this winter guess again.

Im not sure on what happend exactly but my first guess is that either the spring broke or the lower perch of the strut broke off.
Hopefully i get it towed to my house and the spring just fell off the perch and all ill have to do is rent a coil spring compressor and move it back into place.
BTW american cars can suck on my right nut. Damn 01 grand am.

Find a junkyard grand am with about the same mileage and just take the one spring. It should be sagged to about the same point yours is, and you don't have to dump any more money into a sinking ship than absolutely necessary.
