Ive lurked on here for a while, finally made a account. I have a 92 Hb too! Just got the Nismo 16's for it!

Been driving it for a while now!

Overall the 09 Maxima motor is a lot better! Was really fun to pioneer a swap! The motor really has to be tuned! The stock 02 ecu just cant do much for this 09 motor! Currently tuned using a 350z utec, but soon to upgrade!

Thanks!

Going to get a better engine mgmt system in! Either the ecu swap ive messed with (06 350Z with Osiris to tune) or a Haltech. These would give me control of variable intake and exhaust cams, which is something i need. Also just better tuning all around!

380cc injectors, possibly upgrade fuel pump to 300lph unit, and possibly upgrade fuel rail.

Other then that its a lot of little stuff ill play around with. Electric exhaust cutout, intake manifold stuff, edit: going to add a oil cooler also (this new motor has a factory oil temp sensor)

Shooting for 290whp+ on STOCK cams. Its doable, but i want to get there with the least stuff! (if i opened the cutout thats ~10 whp right there)

Here is the first dyno run. no tuning just a diagnostic tool to add some fuel. It was running lean. The 09 motor flows more air, usually these cars are pig rich on the stock ecu.

250 STD corrected, 246 SAE. The ecu was pulling timing at 5500, overall the graph was crappy. Now that its somewhat tuned and with a intake (first dyno was stock airbox) it feels totally different. Im expecting a lot better graph this next time around!

Went back to the dyno to see how its running! More normal graph now!!

280hp / 253 tq (uncorrected was 283/255)

notes: changed rev limiter to 7200, didnt make utec correction after 6900 rpm, afr was 14's+ up around there. The run was with cutout taken off! LOUD!

Best thing from going back is seeing the 5k to 6k gains! was making 180hp at 5.2k now making 245 ish. car runs so much better then it did before.

This only on utec tune, timing not messed with much, mostly fuel. NO EVT hooked up still!

i still have my 92 HB, need to get some parts for it one day.

I need the stuff that holds the spare tire under the bed. The bracket is there and a bolt looking thing. Anyone have anything for that?

I wish I had the mechanical/technical prowess to do that on my own. Great job. I'd love to put that in my 02 Fronty.

Yeah it could be done!

Id use the RWD version of the motor from a Z.

The 07 08 350z is a VQ35HR motor.

i thought about something like that for my d21, but its a lil much for me. The transmission would need to be swapped. and the drive shaft and all that.

The swap i done on my car was actually easy. Kinda surprising i was the first one to do it.
