84-88 Toyota Coil upgrade?

I'm hoping some of you build Toyotas as well. The stock coil which mounts to the fender well is awkward once you cut those out. I would like to run a more basic coil but i'm not sure if I can somehow do a simple swap or if I have to run some kind of MSD module or something.

Mine has the msd blaster II with 6al msd box pretty simple to wire it up ...want pics of my set up? I might have pics of it in the build thread but not sure ..its the 88 pre runner build

I'll check it out, but i'd be interested in seeing it for sure. I was hoping I could run something similar to the round canister coil like on 70's and older cars/trucks. If I have to run the box as well it may defeat the purpose of running different. I'd like to see your setup though.

Hey man, thanks for the pics. I really don't want to run a box like that + a coil. I'd like to just run a coil if possible. I guess what I get my front metal work done I could build the box in some how.
