View Full Version : Gostlrs 98 Eclipse GSX AWD

This was my Daily until I picked up my Hardbody. I grabbed it dirt cheap, Only had 105K on it & I picked it up for $1100. The front left ball joint broke on it & the wheel fell off. Common on 2G eclipse cars. The guy was tired of it & wanted it gone. Cost me about $200 in parts & it was back on the road. Engine was bone stock except for the Injen Intake. It was already lowered with KYB struts & Ebaich springs for a 1.7in drop. Had EBC brake pads & drilled slotted rotors as well. Interior in excellent shape. I have had it almost a year now. I got new rims for it & blacked out the tails. I already have a ETS 3.5in core FMIC for it, HKS BOV & a FP Big EVO III turbo waiting to go on. I am leaving town for 3 months. Once I get back its going to get some love in the engine department.

Can't wait to get home to get moving on my baby. I just grabbed a exhaust manifold and only need a few more parts and I am set. Going to be running about 16-18lbs of boost once i get these parts on. I need to swap out a CV axle first thing then get my rear camber kit on it & aligned. She hopefully will be 100% within 2 weeks of being back then I can show my HB some love...

Ive always loved eclipse's. I didnt know they made a GSX in an auto? Does it still have the feel of a sports car or does it mommy it up a bit?

Some of the Fastest DSMs are Auto's. They handle about 400hp before needing any work. Clutches need replaced after a few mods & the 5 speed tranny breaks all the time. They also have a full pressure mod so it shifts at 100% pressure all the time & a shift box to drive it like a manual. I can do those for about $200. That means much more money for go fast parts..LOL

Even Buschur Racing is building one as we speak for next years shootout.

Auto ftw! 18psi is girly boost man up and turn it up. That turbo is good for about 23 psi. Put on a afpr and 255 or something close and rock out. I started with a super afc and moved all the way to aem. Miss my cheap beast but life goes on but hey you can only go but so fast for cheap.

Tuned right it can get me to almost 30psi....18 is all I will run until I get DSM Link & larger injectors. $ for $ there is not another car out there that can go as fast as the DSM IMO.

My end goal is running about 32psi on E85...I should be sitting about 400-450 Hp at that point.
