I'm not an audio guy but is it possible that you may be close to grounding them out? Does it only static when the engine is running?if that's the case maybe bad ground....Like I said I'm not an audio guy but it's what came to my mind reading your post, maybe someone else will offer you a more definitive answer.

is it static, or more of a whine? if its a whine its your ground, if its static, maybe a loose speaker connection. is there a way to swap out the radio/amp?

You need to bypass the infinity amp system and run directly to the radio if you have a aftermarket radio. Aftermarket and Stock amplified systems do not mix well.
Check out www.the12volt.com (http://www.the12volt.com) you might be able to find diagrams and info there for help.

^^^^^ i agree. sounds like he is still running the factory deck tho. if so, id lean toward the factory amp being damaged. you know its been abused before from the blown speakers, they might have toasted something in the factory setup that needs to be replaced.
time for an overhaul my friend. get ready to rip most of that factory "premium" setup out.

i highly agree...i do audio all the time...you will need to run wires from the radio staright to the speaker...theres a module box controlling the factory system...with this higher output coming through you could fry something
thanks guys. im gonna see if i can take out all the infinity shit except the tweeters(they are great) and the mids are pretty decent to. but im gonna build a custom box and give alphasonik a try with a alphasonik amp and Alphasonik PSW8104

make sure when you run all your speakers run your own wires from the radio to the speakers!!! the factory wires run through the module...which should be located inside your dash...if you pull out your radio and feel around carefully through the wires you should be able to find the box...if im not mistaken "DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THIS" LOL

The amp should be behind the glove box, just run new wires to the amp from the radio and bypass it, or cut the wires at the amp and bypass it. You will have to test the wires to find each speaker.

Notes:
NOTE: For the 2002 Ram 2500/3500, refer to the 2001 techsoft sheet. NOTE: Chrysler vehicles that use a gray ignition key have an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed when remote starting. *1 Lock requires a negative trigger thru a 820 ohm resistor. Unlock requires a negative trigger thru a 330 ohm resistor. MUST use relays. *2 Parking lights require a negative trigger thru a 330 or 1.4K ohm resistor. Headlights require a negative trigger thru a 1.8K ohm resistor. There is a rest resistance on the wire, so MUST use a relay (http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp) to isolate away from the switch. *3 The LF door trigger is tan, and the LR door is tan/orange or purple/orange. These wires are in the driver kick panel. The RF door trigger is tan/red, and the RR door is tan/yellow. These wires are in the passenger kick panel. Use all wires and diode (http://www.the12volt.com/diodes/diodes.asp) isolate each. See directfax document #1076 for wiring information. *4 This will also do door locks. Arm/lock is negative trigger thru a 2K ohm resistor. Disarm/unlock is negative trigger thru a 480 ohm resistor. Single pulse will do disarm without unlocking the doors. Unlock requires a double pulse. MUST use relays. *5 The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is on the passenger side firewall. *6 The amplifier is located behind the glove box. *7 These wires may not be necessary for remote start.
holy shit drop your the man
any comments on alphasonik equipment?

Alphasonik has been around for a while and not a bad brand. I have never been a real fan personally though. JL, Soundstream, Alpine, MB Quart, Boston are my favorite brands personally.
Sometimes those sheets arent 100% correct, just use it as a guide and always expect something to be different.
ok how in the FUCK do i get to the amp?!?!?!? can someone please help me find some info

See if this helps
Update: I found the amplifier in the dash on the passenger side behind the glove box (for removal, there are two black tabs at the top of the glove box that have to be bent below the retaining clips for removal. Then the glove box rests on two hooks, rotate the glove box toward you almost 180deg from closed position and then pull toward you). On another forum, I found the wire diagram from the head unit (i.e. the inputs to the Infinity amp). Then, since I had all the speakers removed, I had the wire colors and I looked at the factory speakers to reveal the polarity of the speakers. For future reference here is what I have found:
Infinity Ouput Speaker Wire Colors (go to the speakers):
-----------------------------------------------------
FL+ : Lime Green/Red
FL- : Lime Green/Green
FR+: Light Blue/Purple
FR- : Light Blue/Black
RL+: White/Red
RL- : White/Black
RR+: Tan/Purple
RR- : Tan/Black
Dodge Head Unit Wire Colors:
-----------------------------------------------------
FL+: Green
FL- : Brown/Red
FR+: Violet
FR- : Blue/Red
RL+: Brown/Yellow
RL- : Brown/Blue
RR+: Blue/White
RR- : Blue/Orange
dude i took the whole glove box out and didnt find a damn thing

Amps could be under a seat, kick panel, in dash, or on the speakers. I am only researching online, I dont know exactly where it is at. You can get on the12volt.com forums and see if someone can help you farther.
Its been a few years since I have installed. If I had the truck in front of me I could help more.
