i flip top leaf, but leave the middle and bottom the way they're supposed to be, will i have any problems?

EDIT:or scratch what i jsut said...what if i use a 89-94 single cab toyota pickup middle leaf spring? since the yota is lighter, then the leaf should have a lower spring rate right? so if i put that on my truck, will i get at least a tad bit lower?

i agree with VIPHB, i'm pretty sure with it being static dropped, you might notice a bit of lift by flipping the top leaf.

summitracing sells lowering leafs with two leafs. they are specific to our HB's. they come with the leaf eye bushings and sleeves, and has a monting pad on the leaf to locate the axle properly. i'm running them on my truck.

It will ride horrible, the leaf isn't meant to flex that way, even with the overload and middle spring it will ride terrible, prolly shouldn't do it and it wont give you any lift it will be maybe an inch lower or roughly the same. And as far as someone answering your ???'s WAIT :chill: Not every member is on all the time it may take a few days for some one to respond to your questions, just cuz someone don't answer you in what... 3 hours it don't mean your being ignored, it is possible that the first few people didn't know how to answer your question because they may not have know what the correct answer is.:soap:

or maybe the question was one that no one knew the answer too. seriously, flipping leaves?

a leaf spring is meant to work in one direction. not so much in the other.

I have took my springs and took the over load out and then put the bottom on top and clamped them and put them back on and we called it flipping the springs but it will put your rear end on the frame are bump stops and have no ride at all. This was the old school way.ack

Oh yea this is dangerous to do!!!! If the clamp slips it is bad!! One guy that was doing a Mazda broke his arm.

yeah, i did the bottom leaf flipped on to the top leaf and i prolly got 2 inches out of it, but my pumpkin is hitting my bed and im about an inch half from the frame

yeah, i did this also, but in the process, i flipped the overload
this was a bad idea, i may be lower and the leaf had de-arched but the leaf dont arch so on some driveway's or entrances to parking lots or shoppign centers, i three wheel, either my left or right rear completely lifts offl the ground

Dont go ghetto u only end up breaking shit. trust me i know, as of right now my truck is undriveable because of my reckless jigger rigging and such, save ur money and bag it.

My frame first craked then broke almost completly right above axle (from axle wacking the frame) and front driver shock mount (from the shock bottoming out all day long in sub-zero temps.)
