From what i heard dessert runners are 2wd but use the 4x4 chasis and parts so i doubt spindles will work you may have to splice a 2wd cab forward frame in.

Thought desert runners were meant to go higher? Just buy a regular 2wd if you want low.

The one in mini truckin years ago was a desert runner and had to put a new front clip in.
The desert runners are built on the prerunner/4wd platform. Spindles might bolt up but not sure. As for bagging it, you will have to do a frame swap from firewall forward or "z" the hell out of it and you motor will probably stick through the hood that way. Good luck with it whatever you do.

keep the desert runner stock or lift it. buy a cheap hardbody or frontier 2wd and lower or bag that.
i'm all for trying new things, but with 4x4 suspension, you are basically un-doing a full bag-job's worth of work, before you can even begin designing for lowering suspension. with the cost of that, you can buy a 2wd AND set it up nicely low :)

wow. that is the lowest d-runner IVE ever seen.... you know what man? it looks fucking tits as it sits right now! and its probably stiffer than it's 2x counterparts! :) that is, unless that leaf pack it missing a leaf....
if you removed one leaf, you should flip it and add it to the top of the pack- it'll stiffen you up and probably give you another inch of drop.
overall- it looks good. leave it. :)

Seeing your DR that low I think I might switch to one and try to lower it also, you gave me some inspiration brah, I thought DR's couldnt get even that close to earth. =P
Basically put it on titans or armadas and give it that sporty look more then what I have now ( Low & scrape everything over 2 inches) Lol.
I like the whole idea of having a truck with aggressive looks & totally functional, specially since I use my truck for my business. :thumb:
DR's got V6 too no? Exactly what I want =P
If a DR could get the stance of hessianben's truck, I'd be on my way to sporty DR :nana2:

My truck was a desert runner. Ended up with a custom frame under it. The upper control arms look like regular Fronty arms. Lowers are obviously different. Looking at the suspension and brainstorming...

can you unbolt the lower ball joint and flip it so the post is point up? If so you may be able to put a regular fronty drop spindle on there. My guess is the DR lower ball joint post is fatter. If that's the case you could get the correct size reamer and ream the bottom hole of the drop spindle to fit the DR ball joint. I'd try it out on an old stock fronty spindle first.

yeah i'll talk to some people and figure it out, sounds like it could work, another thing i heard from somebody was(now this is hard to explain without hand motions) pulling out the torsions, jacking the wheel up(and this is where i got confused) and putting the torsion back in under the wheel or something or other?

I know what you mean. Re-indexing the torsion bars.
