Ok, I had a build page on the other site but never really updated it but I will try to update it more here.

I bought this truck built and knew I was gonna drive it for a season then redo some of it. Some of it turned into the whole damn truck! Should have started from scratch.

When I got it:
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/drivside.jpg

Then I tore it apart:
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/100_0490.jpg

Then I moved so I put it back together (but it was cool because my garage is now 5 feet bigger both ways!)
And how it sits now:
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_0589.jpg

Plans are to lower the engine, tub firewall for 18's, redo the front and rear bag job (to lay 18's instead of 16's) and a whole crap load of other stuff.
I have got to finish insulating the garage though, damn cold up here in Canada!

I'm hoping this thread on a nissan loving site will keep me motivated, mini's are rare up here and I get distracted easily!

Thanks guys!

Just alittle update but no pics:

Boyd Coddington wheels might be bankrupt. I ordered a set of rims in Sept and they still arn't being shipped and there is no answer when you call or email.
Kinda sucks cause I need those damn rims to see how much firewall to tub which inturn makes the bodyshop visit late.

Calling Intro for a set, I hope they ship quick?

thats and sweet 720. and yea, mini trucks are very few and far between. i've only seen about 5 mini's in the greater toronto area in ontario. a little part of me is starting to regret buying my HB...i could have got a '74 austin mini cooper for $1000. all it needed was tires and one front fender. it was left hand drive, 5 speed, 70XXXkms on it, all original, never restored...i'm starting to get distracted by old minis again...found some mint ones for like $5000 online

this site and the guys and girls on it keep me going. evn if i don't have the cash to do something when i get the idea, i can toss it up on here, get people's input, and it helps me stay on track when i do get the money to spare...

thanks to everyone for their help BTW

Well, progress has been stupid slow. This didn't help:

http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_0853.jpg
All free insulation though so i can't complain. Saved me about $200-300 plus I found some vapor barrier in the house when I moved in. All I had to get was OSB for the walls. Should have pics soon, still finishing it up.

Plans have changed a ton on the truck in the last month. I was gonna go hog wild on it (billet everything and HoK paint) but I had a revelation that I would like to do other automotive things than just one truck. So now its getting chrome rims and single stage paint. It's wierd how thing change so fast when you get older!

Ohh and I thought I would add the other thing that is cutting down on the truck time:
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_0904.jpg

Hope to have something done on the truck this month that I can show off!

I can relate to that pic.... there's always shit getting thrown on my truck in the garage.... just this weekend I have to move a bunch of crap to get it out of the garage for a show.

Oh man it's been awhile since I have done anything on this truck but now I have some parts and some cash flow so it should start moving soon!!

I got some metal and parts for my 4 link. Nothing special just run of the mill bag on bars.

Here is the crossmember just sitting in there. Just a test fit.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_1578800x533.jpg

Here is the gusset. I ground down the side for some more support but I dont think I need it.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_1579800x533.jpg

Here are the other parts. 5/8" Rod ends for the connection to the rearend. I had side to side before but it wasn't too impressive due to the regular bushings. This should help alot!
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_1581800x755.jpg

Oh and some damn expensive stuff finally showed up on the 18th! Only took 1.3 years to get here. This also came with 4 wheels but I'm gonna wait to show those. They are from the same company though.

they did about 2 years ago

They took over the one piece cast wheels but Boyd still does the forged ones.

Over Christmas i'm hoping to finish the 4 link and start the front.

Did you cut off the front end of the 720? Can you take more picture of the front end setup of how it bolts up? I would like to do something like that to my 620 where i can remove the whole front end when working on the engine.

loass720
01-09-2010, 03:46 PM
Nope, I didn't cut the frame rails off. Hell I hardly trust my welding to build the 4 link never mind the front frame!

I hope to have some of the 4 link in this weekend, just practicing my welding before I go hog wold on it.
And due to some news that I got last night I really need to have this thing done, and I mean drivable and painted by June :/

Sorry I wasnt specific, I was actually talking about the body part of the truck and not the frame. I noticed on your first picture on the first page shows that after the firewall, the fenderwell has been chopped off. How do you mount fenders and keep it stable and the core support? Do you know what i mean?

loass720
01-10-2010, 10:58 PM
Oh ya I get ya now.

The front is supported by the fenders them self and the 2 big bolts bolting the rad support to the frame. Not ideal but I didnt do it. By the time i'm done there will be tubs connecting the firewall to the rad support.

Now all I have to do is finish it in 6 months!

Well guess I should update abit. Trying to have this thing finished by July 10th for Sideshow in Lethbridge, Alberta. Should be the biggest Minitruck show in Canada this year.

I'm now laying rocker on 18's, I dont think I could go much bigger.
I tubbed the frame to get the bags closer to the pivot point for more lift and now the fender just gets over the tire.
I had to tub the firewall abit too, planing on shaving the firewall when I get there.
The rear is just a basic 4 link. 5/8 rod ends with 1/4 wall tubing. Nothing special, I get about 11" of lift, should be the same once the shocks are mounted.

Ok, pics:
Engine bay. Running side drafts for hood clearance. Also need to move the alt to the other side to make room for the compressor.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_1708800x533.jpg

Rear. Pretty basic, the green crossmember is coming out so the bed floor isnt so high.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_1704800x533.jpg

Interior. Use to have Eagle Talon seats and it felt like I was hitting my head on the roof, the Integra seats are way lower. The dash is getting smoothed and painted and CD player in the glove box for that clean look.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_1707800x533.jpg

Ohh and here is why the progress is slow, Love her to death though and couldnt imagine life without her. (on our way to get the mail)
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p243/Loass720/IMG_1702800x533.jpg

Parts on order:
Steering Column, grill, mirrors, pedals, fuel cell, trim peices, a whack of little things, oh and a body guy!! My guy seems to have so much on his plate he cant make it out.. Oh well.

thats a z24 motor right? are those a side draft set up? where did you pick up the set up? the engine bay looks so clean without all the extra stuff!

loass720
03-25-2010, 03:56 AM
Ya its a Z24. The side drafts are just Dellorto 40mm carbs and found the manifold on ebay. Not cheap though, I think I paid $350 just for the manifold, luckily the carbs came with the truck!

The engine bay should be pretty clean in the end, no brake booster, shave firewall and tubbed, if it ever gets finished!
