I can't seem to find the diagram to cutting the hangers. if someone could possibly point me in the right direction it would be nice.
Thanks. Maybe the simple free stuff like this can stickied to the top of the forum so people don't have to look far to search for it. Just a thought. ^_^

Ok heres the thing... I have done alot of research on this. I heard good things and bad things.. Well so far I have belltech 2" drops in the front.. And was in the middle of taking out my middle leafs in the rear. I want to know something from the guys that did it. What is the ride like when you do these mods. I have a body kit that takes up 3"s already towards the ground so I have to watch how low i go. I was going to 4\5. So I was thinking either one do the leaf removel and a 4 inch block. Or leave the leaf in and do the hanger.. . But i hear wrongs both ways.. I heard that the hanger mod will put strain on you carrier bearing if not dont just right.. And is it that strong? And for the leafs?? I heard the ride sucks bad because of how soft it is.. Maybe the guys that posted them remarks didnt do it right.. You guys look like you all know what you doin.. so how is it and for the templet for the hanger did you have to change the hole any to make it work? let me know what you all think and have seen in doing these mods.. Thanks alot guys... :thumb:

ok,theres alot of questions in there.ill answer as many as i can.the answers are that of MY own opinion, based on what ive learnt/experienced.weather you agree or not, thats up to you, also, dont take this as "words from a bible".
lets see,i got belltechs aswell, and torsion drop,i found the ride in the front to be abit boat like compared to stock height,i have found it to be a slight bit less responsive steering wise.
in the back i have redrilled hanger and 3" reset leaves.all leaves are still there,i think 1 helper leaf my be flipped.i find it firmer than factory.also removed bumpstops
no,havent had any problems at all with my carrier bearing stuff....not yet anyway.if so,i got a spare, easy enough to do.
as for doing the actual redrilling mod,i have written a how to,please see here :
http://forums.minitruckin.co.nz/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=110 (Redrill how to)
Its from the New Zealand Minitruckin site, so its all in kiwi language...metric measurements and calling a hardbody a navara, sorry.
this bodykit you speak of....what sort of height is it in comparison to your rear hanger?lower than it,or higher? how much???
if its lower, just flipp leaf coz i think you will end up catching ya bodykit on shit, and then deceide to lift it back up.
will this mess with the pinion angle or not?
when i redrilled my hangers and had a 3 inch block with my middle leaf pulled i was low but i tell you it road like shyt and i kept riding in my frame so i didnt have any suspension travel. my pinion angle wasnt affected when i rode like this. i did put the leaf back in i am still low but i have a 1/2 of an inch until i smack the frame but i never do.With the leaf springs back in i ride really good now. here is a pic of before i put the leaf spring back in...

SWSCHZ... thanks man for the info.. you answered pretty much everything that i wanted to know. I just wanted to know it first hand from someone that has one it.. For my body kit it hangs down as low as the hanger.. So yes you are right .. I was looking at that the other day. I took the wheels off and lowered the truck down in the back on a jack just to see where i had to be at to get the truck to sit where i wanted it to with the body kit on... Its just about 4 inches ands thats all i need to get to where I want to to be safe and not have to worry about ripping my body kit off.. yeah I want to go for a low but then sporty look.. Not really a slammed ya know.. I got alot of engine work done also.. So Im going for the show and go.. haha. But thanks man I pretty much figured it out what i have to do. Thanks man for the reply though.. I will get some pics up when I get the bed back on.. If you all want to see some pics of where i was at check out my myspace... www.myspace.com/motochamp315.. I have to update them though.. Got all the parts I needed to finish up the front.. Getting ready to drop the engine back in. Thanks again..

What size bolts do you use when you do this mod
Swschz
11-07-2008, 10:17 PM
from memory it was a 18mm (roughly 3/4") bolt and about 120mm long,i had to cut the excess thread off.
you need a bolt that is the same size as the inner diameter of your bushes. so take a leaf out, grab a bush and head to your hardware store and get the right size.
dont forget washers and locknuts!!!

i wouldnt suggest torching the hole out . this causes excess movement of the bolt and can cause trouble down the road...

Ahhh shit he torched it. Thats sorta gangster in a way but like the man said, that makes for a loose hole (LOL) and may lead to premature wtf is it called...rubber dealy wear. What Im wondering it how you did it, w/o blowing your ass up, that pass hanger is right next to the tank!

Gangster-no- RiskynLuck-Yes:thumb:, we used a piece of metal wood and water hose  and we stuffed it between the tank and back of the hanger. and kept the tank cool wit the hose..:nana2:
