slammin a 4 wheel drive

i want to lower my 98 dodge dakota 4x4 i want to no can i keep it 4 wheel drive if i lower and wut would b the cheapest way to go with out changing it all to 2 wheel drive

cheapest, or best? you can remove your front axle shafts have them separated, then put the ends of the axle shafts back into the hub assembly, or else your bearings will fail and your wheel will fall off in about 15 feet, (happened to me, did it to one of our awd astros here at work) i've done a ton of astros like this but never a dakota, but i assume it would work just the same.
