Been listening to a bunch of Chevelle, offspring, 311, a perfect circle, and rage against the machine.

I hate country. And I hate linkin park and nickelback. Any rap newer than 2000? I hate that too. And WHO THE FUCK REMIXED 'SWEET HOME ALABAMA' INTO A TEENIEBOPPER SONG? I heard that shit in a gas station on the muzak yesterday and just about had a heart attack. It sounded like Kid Rock. For as hard as he whores out his upbringing as "poor white trash" you'd think that he would have SOME respect for one of the greatest songs in history.

Anyway. I'm going to stop thinking about it now.

Yes. And you're very clever for not liking anything popular only because if someone else likes it, it must be crap.

I don't want to be a dick, I really don't, but it's like in the beer community. Some guys won't drink anything unless it's expensive and hard to find. In the real world though, if you just mowed the lawn and it's hot out, 2 or 3 hilifes will do the trick just the same as a Trippel Karmeliet or Saison du Pont. Open your mind a little.

Awesome. In one post you managed to: assume my position, make a biased judgment and put forth an asinine analogy. "Open mindedness," I suggest you look into that yourself if you're trying to call me close-minded.

I don't listen to popular music because it lacks merit, subject matter and originality. Generally "popular" bands are merely entertainers, playing someone else's tune, as opposed to being actual songwriters or musicians. That's a fact. Generic music gets old after a while, unless you are easily entertained.

I listen to one band that may be considered "popular," and that's only because the drummer is insane. Five Finger Death Punch. But I don't listen to them very often.

I'm not arguing with you at all, but you don't post that and expect to have no response... all I'm saying on the matter though.

And since my last post, another song to the list.. Haggard - Chapter IV, The Sleeping Child.

Has some violin work in it and some female vocals. It's badass.

ok , one song i really like to hear, its not super hard, but i love the song and the chic voice its...

I love rock and roll

by joan jett and the blackhearts

as far as country.... i hate i hate i hate.... i hate the twin in there voices, i hate the redkneck in the songs, i hate how they try to dress all rock and roll sometimes, i hate how the chics has puffy hair and the damn country voice, you cant tell me everyone talks like that...

i hate boybands pop music . that the media tries to push ... you know , lets get 5 boys together, and someone else write a song, show them few turkey dance moves and then put them all over the tv and say ... girls you like theyre the hit!!

i hate damn american idle .... that just gets under my skin....

what i like is , one guy/girl can sing, so he gets some buddies put together, got out and play at bars and stuff... and build there brand.... they have more pride in there music then the punks that gets everything handed to them and go back stage and butt F@#$K each other .......

Most of you guys prolly already know about and I wanted to start a thread for it but eff ill do it here. Enter the music genome project:

www.pandora.com

no its not porn, its a relatively new music website that, well its streaming radio that you can fuckin, customize. You start off by entering a band or song right, then it plays a song or band that has traits resembling the one you put in, then you say if you like it or not and it keeps going from there. Ive since found like, umpteen deathcore metal bands that fricken, blow me away.
Neaera Radio FTW

I wasn't so much calling you closed-minded as I was calling you arrogant. And my analogy makes perfect sense.

Put a few more years behind you and I think you'll realize that you can hover in the clouds and tell yourself you're too smart for the world and too cultured to live among us commoners, or you can live in the world and enjoy the same basic things as everyone else.
