Currently have a stock 98 regular cab rear wheel drive. The truck doors rattle when going over bumps. It appears the problem is the striker has a plastic sleeve over the ring & the plastic is broken and i need to replace them.

My question is has anybody ever replaced these with new ones that don't have the plastic sleeve and are all metal while keeping overall thickness of the OEM striker ring?

Courtesy parts lists the OEM part number as 80570-D22U001 (http://www.courtesyparts.com/80570m-striker-assy-front-door-lock-frontier-d22u-1998-1999rc-2000-p-75906.html) but they also have the plastic sleeve.

Thanks

The sleeve should be available at the dealer. cant cost much at all...

If you decide to get some used, get passenger side ones since that door is opened much less.
