please let me know where I have gone wrong here.

using belltech nissan drop spindles with cando arms

no toyota parts at all, no body drop

running titans 215/45/18 tire

bottom of tire is still an inch and a half above the bottom of engine crossmember and the upper ball joints have maxed out.

as the tire tucks it is god awful close to the 4x4 fender but will not touch

used one extra thin washer between upper arm and frame to clear the little bulge between the mounting holes.

ball joint mounting castle nuts go way way down the shaft and the cotter pin can be an inch away from the castle part of the nut. I bet its the incorrect ball joints? Unable to torque the balljoint castle nuts at all.

I know i have the correct 2" drop spindles because they fit as they should to all ball joints when I had them on the truck for 2 years so far before bagging the front.

could it be possible that cando mistakenly sent me the wrong ball joints? I specifically ordered nissan to nissan style arms. it shows it all over the paperwork. The ball joints included were in boxes marked duralast.

I have done so with the email to steve. After thinking more about it, I am convinced that it is the incorrect ball joints. Lets see what he has to say on the matters.

Anyone that has ever talked to Steve on the phone can tell you.... He has no problem talking to you and helping out. For sure good idea on the pics...that would help as well. Hell, email Steve pics with a message to call you or call him then he has something to reference as well to see what your problem might be.

see how far past the cotter hole the nuts go? That shouldn't be, right?

yeah looks like the Diameter of the ball joints are too small letting them come through the spindle too much. Probably a mis communication as he may have not known you had BT spindles maybe.

I have enclosed a picture of what it looks like with the bolts tight as far as I can get them with little ease. With an issue like this I can only get imaginative and come up with a whole bunch of reasons as to why this is, many probably defying physics.

That's strange, This has never been an issue before.
The uppers are the same on both Toyota and Nissan spindles.
The lowers for Nissan should be press in and they can be found at AutoZone
part #FA598 OR MOOG #K7025
Let me know what you find out. I've never had this problem before.
I just tried calling you but no answer.
Regards,
Steve

I have a problem with the ball joints that were sent with the order. I am
using the belltech 2 inch Nissan drop spindles. I had the drop spindles on
the truck for 2 years with zero issues. The problem now since installing the
cando arms is that when I place the ball joint shaft through the spindle it
does not stop where it should. It goes all the way up. I cannot torque the
castle nuts. They simply spin the nut and the ball joint shaft without
locking to the spindle as they should. The castle part of the nut is 1 inch
past the spot to place the cotter pin. I ordered the Nissan to Nissan type
configuration from you and somehow the ball joints sent to me are incorrect,
possibly for the toyota spindle swap as shown in the video on trucks that I
saw. I hope I am making sense here.

Due to time constraints on my behalf, I must ask you, what are the correct
part numbers for the ball joints that will go on the cando arms for the
nissan hardbody that will allow me to use nissan drop spindles. I am under
the assumption that I can obtain these from autozone immediately and are
manufactured by duralast. I must get my vehicle back on the road asap.
Please give your insight to this and assist me to resolve the part
conflicts.

Have you tried comparing the length of the ball joint to the original one?

I remember that I needed A couple of washers on mine so that I didn't have the same problem you did. I used only 2 washers to solve the problem.

But as far as Steve at Can-do, always answers his e-mails and does everything he can to solve the problem.

I will try comparing the length as you say Ronnie. Steve from cando says that maybe belltech makes a different ream hole than chassis tech. Dozen different manufacturers make the same ball joint. I will test fit the original spindles over these cando kit ball joints.

I have receieved a half dozen emails from steve at cando already and he is helping me work this out from all angles. I am going to halt my comments at this time on this thread, but will return once I have the answer which I believe I will have soon. I do not want to cause drama over an incredible product whereas I am the only one ever to have such difficulty.

You're not the only one. On the pink hardbody I did we put cando arms on and I too noticed that the ball joint castle nut went on really far. Everything seems to work fine though.

These arms are definitely bada$$ and super high quality.

I solved the issue folks. The shaft of the cando kit ball joints is longer than a stock ball joint so I used washers, 2 on the bottom, and um 4 on the top. The top one is obnoxiously long.
