was looken at getting another hb or pathy to add to the collection and somehow find this 93 gsxr 600 with polished frame and some other little goodies. It has been sitting for a few years but got it for almost nothing. time to start tearing it apart and looking for the few parts it needs
when i first got it
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/gsxr/gsxr2.jpg
when it finally got home and through on the rear plastic to check out how it looks somewhat together
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/gsxr/gsxr1.jpg
plans are to repaint plastic, replace wind screen, full fluid flush and filter replacement, new tires, chain, rear seat or if i can find one a seat cowl and all that good stuff

Nice score, I like how that chrome wraps around below the gas tank...EVERYONE I know is getting or has a bike...I need to look into getting something though lmao Ignore the crotch rocket Haters too! I've heard plenty of guys say they don't last as long blah blah blah but that is not true. I would want something similar to what you have...It has the style*

so awhile i dropped the bike when my rear wheel locked up coming to a stop at 6 in the morning only cracked my plastic luckily so i decided to put some work into it nothing to crazy
first repainted it after fixing the cracks
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/olivedrab.jpg
then rocked it like that for awhile
next came new exhaust my aftermarket one leaked like a bitch and my carbs weren't jetted for it so i picked up a complete 4 into one system off a katana 1100 for under a 100 bucks
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/kat1.jpg
and the messed up old one
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/kat3.jpg
then mounted it

bike runs amazing now much better throttle response also
do have some clearance issues where the plastic mounts
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/kat6.jpg
while i have the plastic off decided to remove the factory blinkers and mirrors and get some combo mirror blinkers
so time to cut up the plastic
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/IMG_0269.jpg
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/IMG_0270.jpg
the a little fiberglass and bondo with fiberglass filler and a bunch of sanding
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/IMG_0272.jpg
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/IMG_0273.jpg
then some paint
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/IMG_0274.jpg
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/IMG_0275.jpg

so i finally have some real updates for you guys. with the help of my buddy andy was able to cut the frame down finally. i dont know how to weld good enough to trust it on my bike and he has been wanting to work on a steel frame bike. he has a 86 gsxr he has been modding for awhile... so here we go with pics......
outside the shop
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681156.jpg
removed light brake seat etc
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681187.jpg
give andy honors of first cut.... cant go back now
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681231.jpg
all old brackets removed and braced up so it cant tweak itself outta shape
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681253.jpg
action pic
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681327.jpg
new seat bracket in place
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681351.jpg
another test fitting of the seat
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681376.jpg
so i love cafe racer bikes always have and wanted to add a little to this bike so i decided to do something different with the rear cowl/tail light
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681427.jpg
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681405.jpg
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1332681279.jpg
so the tail light will be recessed almost completely inside the hole when its done. still gotta figure out blinkers and license plate mounts. might try to get some more done tonight if i can get the time to drive the hour to the metal/wood shop its sitting at.

nice man, always loved street fighter style bikes. Had a katana as my first bike, they always had a bad rap for being slow and heavy (they were haha) but i could smoke the squids/posers on their liter bikes in the twisties...
Keep us posted, looks good so far!!!

Just ordered a new small digital speedo that runs off a magnet on the front tire and taking to a guy about buying a custom rebuilt b12 shock shortened internally and set for my weight and height. Should be more updates as soon as the parts get in. And once it's warm and not windy as shit the rear pegs will be cut off to clean up the back somemore. Any of u streetbike guys know of a good clean looking tach I replace that hideous stock one I'm rocking right now

Ended up ording new HEL stainless steel brake lines last night that are blue with ktm orange fittings and some 90degree valve stems. Bike is going to be resprayed soon to get ride of the green and black them. Most likely going to go with a blue on the bike and orange on the rims

i picked up a post kat rim off a member on katriders.
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1335909010.jpg
which gives me a reason to finally use these bad boys that i had picked up a month or two ago
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kunzalton/katana/1335912387.jpg
i should also be picking up the isd front fork this week once i get a chance. the plan is to paint the rims orange to match the brake lines. so my question for you guys is do i need anything different to mount the post kat rear rim on a pre? i am guessing different spacers? any help would be awesome
oh yeah i also saw this on CL and couldnt help to pick it up for a few bucks
