Hey guys, I've been getting a smell similar to the one you get when it just started to rain on asphalt crossed with a mildew smell.

it seems like the longer i drive, the worse the smell gets. doesn't seem to get better or worse depending on the speed of the fan.

I've been looking at FSM pics and online accounts and it looks like most of our trucks have a pair of filters next to the blower motor.

problem is: I DON'T HAVE AC. the setup looks totally different than all the pics i've seen!

Does anyone else here have a truck without AC and/ or have this problem???

thanks guys

I have an '02 w/ AC. I know you asked for others w/o AC but I don't have a cab filter in mine.

I've seen a lot of pics of trucks with AC that don't have filters installed, but there is a removable cover that you can pull and intall your own filters.

The difference is that mine doesn't have any of that removable cover stuff...!

i'll post pics tomorrow.

Could your heater core be leaking inside the cab?

i'll check the carpet same time.

I recently had this problem on my '98 Frontier... the passenger side floor board was wet...

I figure dthe A/C drain was plugged, so I popped the covers on the Heater Core/A/C evaperator and it was covered with nasty $hit...

Cleaned that off with the shop vac, the drain was clear... hmmm so it's not that...

Come to find out, the Hood hinge on the passenger side has a gasket where it goes through the firewall... it was trashed.... every rain, it would leak and end up on the floor board...
