I know a lot of you hardbody guys have done a swap to a smaller booster but I am trying to find out what I can do with my Toyota. My brakes are acting up and I may as well spend the money on an upgrade rather than diagnose and search for whats wrong. I feel like my booster is going out but I can't find a straight answer on how to tell.

What I plan on doing is using the waylayedinc zinc master cylinder/booster setup, (http://www.waylayedinc.com/Waylayed2010/ww/products/Zinc-Master-Cylinder%7B47%7DBooster-Combo.html# ) and then these rotors ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-FRONT-High-Performance-Drilled-Slotted-Brake-Rotors-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aToyotaQ7cModelQ3aPi ckupQQhashZitem3f07449639QQitemZ270704875065QQptZM otorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2434w t_1165 ) and I believe my calipers are fine but need to test them I guess. If they are bad I may just rebuild and spray them. Ebay also has some SS brake lines i'll pick up.

Can anyone confirm that this will work on my 85 Toyota, and if it will NOT work share some products or ideas that do work? I'd like to do this as bolt on as possible....I've got 3/4 of a truck to prime as well and a month to get it all done.

If the booster is going out then the brakes will be hard as hell to apply.

hrmm....then what causes a soft pedal that can be pumped? bad MC or air in lines? I havent had the truck in 4 months and I get it back tomorrow so I wanted to line things up to be done. I've been through 2 MC's from autozone as well as bled 2 bottles on dot4 (i think) through them and it does no good. they get pressurized and shoot fluid like crazy but they just dont feel good at all. i also lose fluid over time and it seems to come from around the MC and booster mating area.

first make sure your slides on the front caliper move easily. also check to see if the rod is ripping the seal on the MC

If you see fluid coming from the back of the mc its probably leaking. I've bought two master cylinders from autozone that leaked brand new, I've since bought elsewhere and have no signs of leakage. Most likely you still have air in the lines

Check out the Toyota 4Runners. I understand they run a smaller booster that bolts over. not 100% sure but look into it.
