Headers

I have heard that replacing the exhaust manifold with headers will ultimately mess up a Titan. I hope this is just a rumor, does anyone know anything on this subject?

It depends,won't mess em up if done right. They can make our trucks run lean(to lean).Most recommend to have the truck tuned(uprev), but some people have mounted them and there truck ran fine. The afr really needs to be checked after there installed. I was looking at putting some on mine when my manifold cracked, but looked and it seem like to much involved.

I completely agree that is too much of an effort i think that i will just go back with the stock manifolds.

I can see no reason that a set of headers can "mess up" a Titian. The aftermarket headers will simply outflow the stock manifolds, which can only result in more useable horsepower, torque, and fuel economy. Its not a motorcycle, with free flowing headers the A.F.R. will only change very little if any.

The stock manifolds are headers anyways...1 1/8" primaries. The titans exhaust is pretty free flowing as is. Other than that, the only thing is the cost (as with any catalyst)

You might wanna read up on the titan, it is can change greatly or none at all. There's different models when it comes to what may happen(like flex fuel trucks or non ff and also if you have the newer model with the vvt on it). I have a titan and have done alot of research when my manifold cracked because of the cats becoming clog on a truck with only around 55000 miles at the time and my truck is stock.
