So I noticed an interest in triangulating the stock lower control arms and even more people asking about it. Which made me think, why not offer a kit with everything you would need to triangulate a pair of stock lower control arms. This kit would work on any factory lower control arms that use strut rods. Its a Do-It-Yourself kit which requires cutting and welding. It comes with 1 U-bend (1.250"x.250" wall DOM) that you'll cut in half to give you two curved tubes, 2 poly bushed ends, 4 long flat tabs, 2 nuts, 2 bolts, and 4 washers. I have it listed on www.UnusualFabrication.com (http://www.UnusualFabrication.com) under "products" then "tubular control arms".

That's cool. Is this something that could be sold ready to go? or would you need to trim/adjust it as you're setting it up? Also, what are the benefits of losing the strut rod? Is this for running big wheel setups or for everyone? (Sorry if questions don't belong here but it might help others who are interested in the product.)

Questions are fine here! This is something that would have to be done on the truck, unless you wanted to send me your lower arms. If I had your lower arms then I could put it all together and then all you would have to do is notch and weld on the two tabs per side to the frame. By having me do the lowers for you that would also cost more. The strut rod can have a few issues, they can interfer with your steering linkage when bagged. Strut rods are also mounted under the frame horns so if you are going to bodydrop your truck they will need to get cut off and relocated anyways.

I was informed that the tabs in the kit were to short to work with 76-83 toyota frames. This has been addressed and the tabs are now 7" from the flat to the center of bolt hole. This should leave plenty of room for trimming to fit the frame.

Well its been a few months since I started selling this kit and I am surprised at the amount of these I have sold! It seems as though a lot of guys like an alternative to running aftermarket arms. I have some more pictures of these kits installed that i'll post up for those of you that are interested.

Hey guys just wanted to let you know that if your in the market to buy a Triangulated Lower Control Arm Kit you can still get it at the current price until 12/31/2011. Starting 1/1/2012 I will relaunch my site with updated pricing on a lot of items. The kit will still be about $100 shipped (I think its around $92 now). I have been holding off for awhile now but with the price increase of pretty much everything it takes to build, package, and ship them, I have to adjust accordingly. Thanks again to those who have purchased from me and for all the support I have gotten off of this site!

my only question is... in all the pics besides the 4 runner there is a supporting piece of tubing welded to the control arm. whats up with that? and is that piece just cut from the bent piece that is initially cut in half to give you both driver side and passenger side?

Its just for extra support. The U-bend is 13" long so there should be enough left over after you trim it to fit between the bushing and the arm if you choose to do so.

I really like this kit but i want to use it on a fullsize. Whats the width or diameter of the u bend? And is the 13" measurement from the bottom of the bend or the staight section?thanks

The U-bend is 13" in overall length. Plus with a bushing welded on the end it would be 14" from the center of bolt hole to the end of U-bend if you need to use the max length of it. It's 9" from center of tube to center of tube. If someone needed a specific length U-bend I could make it longer for an additional cost.
