Just here to say that I am wanting a bodydrop so bad but researching pricing around $1000 an inch is way expensive. This sucks because this is the one mod now that I want to get done but there is no way I can see myself paying that much at this point in my life. I got a family now with a wife and 2 great kids and recently moved from cali to az because of the high prices. I've been reading many articles on how to bodydrop to see if possibly if I could do this by myself. First of all, I've never even welded before. I have a good understanding on how things work and I know a lot of common sense comes into play. Is this possibly a mod one like myself can do or is it out of the question. This is not my daily driver, so I have no time limit to get this done. I've had my truck for almost 10 years since my family bought it new in 97. So far I've done what I can with bagging and wheels. Just wanted to share my situation. Seeing so many bdropped rides makes me want it done so badly. Does anyone know any shops in az that might have decently reasonable prices. Any opinions or advice would be great. Thanks, Ryan. Love the site and the many dope trucks that are on here. Later

Doing the body drop yourself isnt very expensive, and not that difficult but it is time consuming. When i did my s10 i probably only had 200$ in materials (sheetmetal for fillers cut off wheels and sawsall blades). For 1000 you could buy a welder teach yourself to weld on some scrap metal then go ahead and body drop it yourself.

see scottygtr build thread. u will see what all is involved.

personally, bodydrops look nice and all but if i had a wife and kid and limited funds they would be where i would spend the quality time.

of course, i understand that. that is why i haven't done anything to my truck in the past 3-4 years. but now i got the itch to get it going again. my truck hasn't really even seen the daylight much in that time. i have no time limit to get this done but would just like to get something started. don't want to be an old fart and still not be done with it yet.
