d21cruisa -
so ive got a guy that i can buy a yota swap from... it includes the rear end, stock spindels, rotors, calipers and what not... but my question is how do the spindels bolt up to my truck? will they just bolt on to my nissan arms/ball joints or what do i have to do?
ice -
i dont think the spindles will bolt up ...
but you can use the hub from the toyota...
and put it on the hardbody drop spindles... but you need a new seal to adopt to it... i dont remember the part number... also it helps to machine down some of the lip on the spindle too...
might ask around... i cant remember that stock number you need... sorry..
hope that helped some..
MY QUESTION IS, DOES ANYONE KNOW THE PART NUMBER THAT ICE IS TALKING ABOUT AND DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THERE IS A HOW TO THREAD OR VIDEO? CAN SOMEONE ELSE EXPLAIN IT A LITTLE BETTER PLEASE? ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!

u need to have ur nissan spindles milled down 1/4" to the diameter of the spindle shaft and use the yota hub, seals and bearings....u need to have it machined cuz the u wont be able to tighten the spindle nut all the way down to get the cotter pin back in...

shit thats pricey. it was $40 to get my rear axles drilled. drilled the drums myself but could have been done with the axles for free. $40 for hubs at the wrecker, $10 for seals, bearing are the same as stock. Didnt get my spindles machined but should have, maybe $50 there. Toyota v6 discs were like $50 each new. So i have $190 or so into it not including putting in all new longer studs, but that was only $20.

The main reason for me to get these was that no one seems to have them. I just like to do things different even if no one will ever see it.

So what happens if you dont have them machined??? what is the downside?

the cotter pin doesnt fit cause the nut doesnt screw past the crossdrilled hole.

Yeah the shaft of the toyota spindle is longer by 1/4". So you need to machine down the nissan spindle that much around the pressed shaft inorder for the yota hub to seat properly and allow for the nut/cotter pin combo to work.
Thats the method I used for my frontier... I THINK its the same for the HB.
