i'm in the market for buying a bag kit, and i'm not sure which valves to get, i live in canada and its going on my daily driver, which will probably be winter driven, so i need the valves to last me through time and weather. i desperately need the help of people that know the best choice, money isn't a huge deal, but the cheaper the better right, that being said, i don't want to sacrifice quality for cost

I have 3/8 smc valves on my truck no problems with them but i have not driven the truck in the winter. I have heard storys about valves freezing to prevent this you need to put air brake antifreeze in your tank when it starts to get cold. Im in the process of bagging my civic(winter beater) il going to just use manual ball valves in the center console so i dont have to worry about them freezing. And their cheap.

I hear their 3/8 manifold valves suck any amount of moisture makes them seize up i have 8 of them in my basement have yet to try and see if they work.

Are those the 3 way valves? If so, would you want to part with 4 or so of them?

Most of the time the "freezing" comes from moisture freezing the diaphram to the brass valve. I would suggest that if you are going to run a truck in the winter to either place your valves in the cab if possible with the dumps plumbed outside the cab. Or, you could do the front valves in the engine compartment and the rear valves under the front part of the bed inside the frame rails so that heat will reach them so that they will not freeze.

yes, asco valves were mainly used into commercial and industrial settings, until some minitrucker found them in a parts book. ive heard they are good valves.

i myself am running SMC 3/8s and cant complain. when they were new i had one that would occasionally stick, but once it got broke in its been flawless.

I've got those 'e' valves they were available for a short time from suicide doors and r really similar to GC xtreme valves. They were very good for the first month or two and then I was having issues with the valves stickin open and almost always dealing with a frozen valve or two in the winter, if u would like my honest opinion....go with SMC run all ur valves under the hood of the truck, jus run the extra hose, and u shouldn't have issues with diaphrams freezing

i know people who swear only by asco... less leaks and issuse with them thna most other valves... probably one of the best valves ive seen.
