years ago i replaced my stock drivers side pigtail for the headlight cause it burnt, every once in a while i have to pop the hood and wiggle it to turn on,well it doesnt come on anymore no matter what,i cut off the harness followed each wire and plug female clips into the bulb directly,it turns on now but its noticeably dimmer than the passenger side, when i turn on the brights the drivers side shuts off,any ideas guys.

Maybe something inside the bulb isn't touching or you may have a bad ground

allright my battery puts out 9.73 volts, when i start it i get 10.17,grounded my headlight directly to battery no change i brightness,i also added a power wire straight to the bulb, no difference.my volts seem low is it my alternator,oh i also relocated my battery to the bed using 2 4 gauge wire for both posts.
