well i have been asked by a few to start a build thread so here it is.
started out with this extended cab 720
http://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/720%20project/firstpic.jpg
body dropped and back halved. cant find a pic of the body drop but its to the pinch traditional style, heres the back half..http://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/101_1454.jpg got rid of the stabalizer bars and braced the a armshttp://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/720%20project/aarm.jpg
the rest of the work is mostly paint and cutting off the rediculus xmembers to be replaces with simple ones.
here is how she sits nowhttp://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/readyforshow.jpg
more pics here http://s534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/720%20project/

this is already my fav 720, def. bad ass, i love the theme of the truck so far. where in nc is monroe, i know ive heard of it, but cant quite place where it is

wow...what color is the whole truck going to be?

looks amazing.

lil beaver
07-27-2010, 11:13 PM
most likely it will be the color of the gas tank and bars, but i still havent decided for sure. im open to suggestions

minitrucker6669
07-27-2010, 11:32 PM
how about gloss white?

that would be different maybe get some airbrushed chrome strips

lil beaver
07-28-2010, 12:12 AM
yeah white was another option, and i want to keep it simple, everybody is doin the airbrushed trim now i hate goin with the new "trends"

minitrucker6669
07-28-2010, 12:24 AM
i havent seen anything really with airbrushed trim but classics. i like the gloss though. hardly see just plain gloss.

i know its a classic but i also saw a s10 with bel air trim airbrushed on at southeast showdown, and i dont know anyone that does that kind of stuff, me and my brother are doing all the work ourselves. the more i think about the white tho the more i like it.

minitrucker6669
07-28-2010, 02:57 AM
NO PHOTOS is what that pic says lol.

but i know of one truck and it was a guy back in tennessee.

the white would look awesome with teal accenting it. teal would be too crazy. maybe if you accented everything else in white. but the white would be nicer IMO

lil beaver
07-28-2010, 03:55 AM
haha sorry, it was a blue and silver c10 that was on the cover of street trucks i think, but yeah about the white, its my top possibility now, it would be clean and give me more options on the color of the interior.

07-30-2010, 06:04 AM
looks soo good, what you gonna do for a brake booster?

lil beaver
07-30-2010, 02:37 PM
cokers were about 180 a peice if i remember right.
the brake booser was tricky until i found something so simple, just get a 620 booster and use the factory tube lookin mount, you will have to fill and move 2 holes but thats it, the linkage from the factory boster will just transfer over to the 620.

lil beaver
09-10-2010, 12:28 AM
no i dont think i said anything about that, its so we can use a american electronic speedometer, its actually a kit my dad found for about $80, the sensor is in the pic, it uses a magnet and somehow reads the teeth on the sproket.

09-10-2010, 04:55 AM

hey sweet lookin 720 and the old school look is awesome.. are you still looking for paint options? if you have white pearl..you could do white pearl with some accents or designs done in silver flake...and use that teal to pinstripe some lines around the flake to break it up from the pearl..and with the ways to brush the flake you can do alot with it..just an idea

lil beaver
10-16-2010, 07:58 PM
thanks, and im pretty set on what colors and stuff. truck is gonna be white with teal engine compartment, and inside the bed where its not wood, and the roof is gonna be teal, from the drip rail up

lil beaver

02-10-2011, 04:01 AM

02-10-2011, 04:05 AM

alright guys got alot done this week since i was out of school, bags are now functional without the shop air compressor, all plumbing and wireing is done, tomarrow the body work on the bed will start, and a minor set back when we put water in the radiator the oil pan started leaking water sooo we traced everything back and bought a remanufactured head and got a new intake. we belive the head was cracked, the truck we got it out of was totalled, hit hard in the front. hopefully the new head will fix things

02-20-2011, 01:04 AM
beaver, is that the stock tank just re-loacted?
I need to do something on my 521 and after seeing the tank at the back under the bed I think I found the answer to my issue.

lil beaver
02-20-2011, 03:02 AM
no, its out of a late 80s early 90s blazer if i remember correctly. we actually got lucky, built the frame then started looking for a tank and this one fit.

dirty
02-20-2011, 05:00 AM

lil beaver
02-26-2011, 11:31 PM
well guys we are still working on the motor, got the new head and put it on but didnt realize the tentioner came out, we tried to crank it but realized something was wrong. so we put a double chain timing set on it with all new gears and stuff, and tentioner, in the process we found the timing had jumped wen the tentioner came out. today we put the timing cover back on with the right timing set. wen the air/fuel mixture was shooting back out the carb we realized somethin was screwed up. we bent the valves wen the timing jumped, so we got the head back off and are gonna get new valves this week.

Is your 720 a manual? If so what did you do about the clutch master cylinder I'm trying to mount mine under the dash and not having much luck

lil beaver
03-01-2011, 01:35 AM
yes its manual, we havent actually fixed it yet but first gen s10's have a veryy small master cylinder that mounts straight to the firewall, and the shaft goes straight through the firewall to the clutch pedal. actually has a remote mounted resevoir from the factory. thats what i plan to use but like i said we havent tried it yet.

they are just trailer fenders, i pretty much just went with it, put a tire on and started cutting until it layed out then brought it as far up as possible without getting into the fender. the flat peice on top of the fender is lined up with the pinch seam on the cowl.

lil beaver
03-19-2011, 11:22 PM
well theres one bolt thats on the radiator support on the top, and theres another on the cowl. for some reason it looks like the one on the cowl isnt there in the pic but it is. then of course i still have the ones in the door jam and on the bottom of the supprt. oh and another down almost on the rocker.

Nice work. I like the fenders and the supports. I so wish I could body drop mine, but the 22's are too big. I was thinking about how I was going to run my fender supports, I like how you did the vertical sheet over the top to the core support. Gives it a clean look. I had to tub the F out of my firewall.. I'm still doing all the fun stitch welds. All in all I have to say the welder is giving me a nice tan! lol

Keep it up, you're almost there.

lil beaver
03-21-2011, 04:24 PM
yeah my tires are a little bit over 25 inches tall, i did the biggest ones i could without cutting up the fenders. and when you do the passenger side tub, watch out for the wind shield wiper motor, we had to go back and but a mini tub in the top of the fender to clear it.

RedAggie03

I flipped mine. Drilled out new spots for the bolts. Yeah my 22's with the 30 series tires heavily kissed the wiper motor. That's without a bodydrop.

I don't have any turning radius until the fenders clear the tires. My camber is also bad until that point too. I'm going to get Mike at DHP to look and see if we can get the front straight so I can ride lower. I don't wanna ride bulldog everywhere. And I also don't wanna wear out these expensive ass tires!

Krisko
03-21-2011, 07:23 PM
And plus, my tubs actually go back far enough to touch the hole where the factory speaker is and as high as barely touching the actual hood hinge. Sooo much cutting, trimming, welding, trimming, welding, grinding... ahhh, it makes me crazy! lol

lil beaver
03-21-2011, 09:11 PM
i know wat u mean man, thats close to where mine are but i think i can still get a speaker in there with a little help from a hammer, lol. and i might have a pic of the dash today, we dont have the tools to bend the big peice of sheetmetal on top so my bro took it to work where he has a torch to heat it up and get it the right shape.

yes we have updates, ill post some pics later. dash is completely done, i didnt like the wrapping idea so i worked 2 weeks to get it straight enough to paint but it came out great. hood and cowl is painted. and the bed got its second coat of primer today so the plan is to paint thursday so it will look like a whole truck middle of next week. theres a chance of hauling it to scrapin the coast well see where that goes. and thanks 98frontier its been a 3 and a half year build that should finish up here in a few months.

well i have been asked by a few to start a build thread so here it is.
started out with this extended cab 720
http://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/720%20project/firstpic.jpg
body dropped and back halved. cant find a pic of the body drop but its to the pinch traditional style, heres the back half..http://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/101_1454.jpg got rid of the stabalizer bars and braced the a armshttp://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/720%20project/aarm.jpg
the rest of the work is mostly paint and cutting off the rediculus xmembers to be replaces with simple ones.
here is how she sits nowhttp://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/readyforshow.jpg
more pics here http://s534.photobucket.com/albums/ee345/beaver720/720%20project/

my dad got it for me for Christmas one year but heres a link to one that i found http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQNissanQQ720QQReplacementQQGrille_AssemblyQQ19831 986QQ696.html

the wheels and caps are from a 620, tires are cokers.

lol, true. I have changed my mind several times with truck and still haven't touched it since I bought it several years ago. It's time I build this thing though. I need to get some space back in my shop.

I'm thinking 3" LCA's, 3" Rear Block and remove the middle leaf, tub the bed, and use a set of 16" chevy wheels.
