so we got in my car to go out tonight and after we left the a/c started acting up. The a/c light and recirculation light flicker on and off and sometimes just stay off no matter if i press the buttons of what settings i put the knobs on. Havent had a chance to look at it yet. just curious if theres any common problems

So is the a/c cutting out or is it just the lights flickering?

sounds like electrical more than mechanical issue...I Know A/C Relays go out. There may also be a Cut Out mounted below your Gas Pedal to cut out the compressor on Accelleration? Does it only happen while driving or when Idling too?

right now it sounds like the actual button is making poor connection, i dont think anything else would cause a flicker

s'up y'alls. 1st post eva!! Serious. Anywho, the problem ur experiencing is caused by the blower motor resistor. Who woulda thought. I learned the hard way an shotgunned it a little by replacing the a/c head unit first. thought something came loose too. wasn't it. now i got a paperweight. for sale, cheap:rolleyes: i cant recall how much the resistor was, but it was cheap. Its located under the passenger dash in the evap housing. three or four wire i think. simple clip and a coupla screws and it comes out. Had same symptoms. Lights would flicker, blower speeds were off sync, a/c on lite came on only when blower in #1 speed but compressor was off etc. weird stuff ya know. Nizzy parts guy here said they had a problem with them. I no longer sweat like a madman. Good luck. :sheep:

yea i narrowed it down to the control head or the resistor. Little difficult to diag cause from the looks of the schematic everything seems to go through the BCM not simple circuits. But, since Resistor packs go bad way more often then control heads whent ahead and grab one from nissan and put it in. problem fix.
Nissan told me the same thing when i called to see if they had it in stock.
hopefully this can help someone else out in the future.

yeah thats common, I saved a couple good resistor from some heater box replacements. Would have sold you one cheap, but they really aren't expensive new anyways.
