View Full Version : bagging mazda 3
any with any usefull info on bagging a mazda 3 post it here lol. my girl told me today she was interested in bagging her 07' mazda 3 4 door... i have never been so proud in my life! we have all the means of doing it right and she has the funding under control should we go through with it, but i wanted to look at some sites and digrams relative to the cars suspension before making any hasty decisions.
thanks - zach

i would go with air cylinders for a car
just remove the shock and put in cylinder then run air line ect.
i think thats how its gonna be, she wants it all removable just in case.
air cylinders ride rough and wear out within a year or 2.... so if you do go that route, invest into good cylinders. and dont go the cheap route... prob be best to get the local :hoh: to professionally install any kits .

I would do bag struts if there is enough room there are kits for most cars, for my honda element they were $1700 for a full kit.

let me chime in here...i am rolling on Cylinders...they ride fucking ruff....i had strut bags on my car and it rode like a caddi...i would definatley check into strut bags and run a LOW PSI...i recently cracked a strut tower...due to running 180+psi... just my 2 cents...
thanks for all the info fellas. just curious why do cylingers ride ruff? they ride ruff even if i install aftermarket shocks? or can shocks even be installed with cylinders on a mazda 3?

think of it this way. when your suspension cycles, the air inside compresses when the suspension goes up, and rebounds when the suspension extends.
inside an air cylinder, the air is being compressed in a metal tube. very little room for expansion, so when it compresses, the pressure rises and the suspension stiffens.
in a bag strut, the situation is very similar, except the bag can expand and this helps keep the pressure lower. so the ride is softer.
