well i went to my local audio shop to get supplies to wire up an amp for my highs in my daily...told them what i was doing...which was take apart my doors and run wire there...their bright idea was to run the wire behing the radio and connect there so less time was consumed...

good idea right.....WRONG!

my SUV came with stock tweeters that were connected with the front speakers so a module chip looking thing was hooked up in the dash...the wires didnt run from the radio to speaker...it went from radio to chip thingy then rca's wierd huh

well after it was hooked the amp would get hot fast, so i redid it today and took off the tweeters and 2 out of six 6.5 speakers and that module was smoking after...so what i was going to do origianlly which was run to the speakers directly was done today (what a waste of time)

therefor i am never listening to an audio shop again!!!

sorry just needed to rant on for a bit

what kind of vehicle were u working on....what they told u is correct but ussually for an installer...we go behind the radio all the time to catch speaker wires for a 4 channel amp unless there is a premium sound system in the vehicle then we go to the factory amp and catch the speakers and put our line out converters there.....as for the module deal ur talking about that sounds like some sort of x-over or factory amp, depending on the vehicle...
