figured i would post this so noone else will do it.i bought the truck with it mono leafed(just the main spring) it started sagging over time(about a year)then saturday it snapped in half.luckily i wasnt going fast.it snapped just in front of the perch/shock plate. so anyone wanting to go mono leaf. i DONT recommend it.so now that i need lew leafs, should i get a stock leaf pack and just pull the middle leaf or buy stillens lowering leaf springs. which one will get me lower to the ground? also plan on raising and cutting the hangers if i can find a drill big enough to put the bit in.and just for information i had 3 inch blocks, single leaf, 4x4 shock for about three months then changed to air shocks.

Were u driving a lot with the shocks filled all the way a lot? When u mono leaf it any type of stress air bag,air shock, or hydros will snap the spring I had a mono leaf with 5 inches of block and drove all over the place but never put an adjustable suspension on it so I never had a snap issue. Others I know when they do a mono they tend to put sometype of adjustable item on it and snap it goes. Needless to say if ur planning on just static maybe the lowered pack I haven't had leaves in years so I'm no help but ill tell u my mazda was the lowest in central florida at the time mono 5 inches of block and cnotch static in the back and hydros in front that laid engine crossmember and itsraw well at the time excalibur did the hydro install.

they were starting to sag before i put air shocks on there.but when i put them on there i didnt keep much air in them. just enough to keep the hangers from dragging.only filled them up with air twice once so i could get in a driveway and another to haul pallets.

just save some money and get the leaf pack from a frontier or hardbody at the junk yard and take the middle one out. once you get em in you can redrill the hanger

went to pull-a-part they didnt have a fronty or hardbody single cab. and i called junkyards and they want anywhere from 100.00 to 200.00 and stillen only wants 117.00 if pulling a leaf on a stock leaf pack got me lower i would buy that.but if the leafs from stillen got me lower i would want that.gonna put my 3inch blocks back on and cut and raise the hanger when i find a drill.which one would get me lower?

king cab leaf packs should be the same.
pulling a leaf plus redrilling your hangers will prob get around 3" of drop. and a little more if you turn the overload leaf upside down so it wont hold up the top leaf as much. that plus a 3" block will have you good and slammed.
a junkyard wants 100 for used leaf packs?

ok from what i have read the leaf springs are the same in 95-97 harbodys 2wheel drive and four wheel extended and single cab.early frontier 2 wheel drive and four wheel drive extended cab and single cab also use the same springs as the hardbodys listed above.the only ones that arent the same are the ones from 86.5-94.
